What are Shiny Pokemon?
Shiny Pokemon are uncommon variations of ordinary Pokemon with a unique color palette. Shiny Pokemon are tough to find in “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.” However, when trainers are riding around on Koraidon/Miraidon, this may not be the case.
How to Get Shiny Koraidon?
You will be unable to obtain Shiny versions of the three starter Pokemon without first breeding them. They’re shiny-locked at that early point in the game, so resuming your game will not affect their appearance.
Unfortunately, Koraidon and Miraidon share this shortcoming. Miraidon and Koraidon do not have Shiny variants in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. They’ve been shiny-locked.
Although earlier generation games allowed players to obtain shiny versions of some legendary Pokemon, this is not the case with these two in Scarlet and Violet at the moment.
Will shiny Koraidon or Miraidon be DLC?
With the recently released Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, there’s reason to suppose the Area Zero-themed DLC will contain a means to obtain a shiny Koraidon or Miraidon.
Pokemon Sword and Shield also included a special raid function that made it much easier to defeat legendary Pokemon in their shining versions. Something similar may happen here, or the Pokemon could offer it as a Mystery Gift later on.
