The release of Hogwarts Legacy has been much anticipated. In 2020, Avalanche Software made the game’s announcement, but work on the project had already begun years before. Delays pushed the release date out from 2021 to 2023, much past the studio’s original target.

At present, the release date for the game on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch is set for February 10, 2023. However, thanks to an Early Access deal, those who preordered the Deluxe Edition will get to play the game even sooner.

Hogwarts Legacy 4 Days to Go: Get Ready for the Adventure

From February 7 on, those who preordered Hogwarts Legacy: Deluxe Edition can begin playing the game. This Early Access bonus is unfortunately only available on current-gen platforms (PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5).

However, given the Xbox One/PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions aren’t coming out until April 4 and July 25, respectively, it’ll be tough to get an early look at Hogwarts Legacy.

The early access period for Hogwarts Legacy on the PC will begin on February 7 at 10 AM PST/1 PM EST. The Hogwarts Legacy team has recently announced these timings, and there has been no word that they will be changing the Early Access schedule anytime soon.

Players of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X have it even better. The Hogwarts Legacy team claims that players can enter the game’s Early Access period on February 7 at midnight, local time. Because of this, it’s likely that you’ll be able to use a New Zealand trick variant to get in on the action even sooner.

Naturally, this begs the question of whether or if the Early Access periods for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch Deluxe Editions will be independently granted at a later date. Unfortunately, the unambiguous reply is No. There is no mention of an Early Access period for the Switch edition, although the official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ does suggest that the console versions will debut without one.

Pre-ordering the Xbox version grants instant access to the game’s digital download, but PS5 customers must wait until the game’s official release date (plus two days) on November 10 to do the same. Hogwarts Legacy will be available for download 72 hours before the start of the bonus round for those who have Early Access privileges (meaning you should be able to start pre-loading them on February 4).

The PC players won’t have it so easily. As reported by PCGamesN, neither the Steam nor the Epic editions of Hogwarts Legacy will include a pre-load option. Those who preordered the console release will have an advantage because they won’t have to wait until the Early Access period begins to get the game.

Even while Early Access is the primary selling point of the Deluxe Edition, there are other advantages to purchasing this bundle. These days, it’s expected that the Deluxe Edition will come with a few bonus features not available in the standard release.

They can unleash their inner Death Eater (or whatever the wizarding equivalent of that term was in the 1890s) with a Thestral mount, cosmetic set, and fighting arena based after the Dark Arts. Pre-ordering the appropriate Deluxe Edition is required for access to additional wonderful extras.

If you pre-order Hogwarts Legacy, whether or not you get the Deluxe Edition, you still get the Onyx Hippogriff mount. PlayStation owners, on the other hand, will be able to take part in a unique quest involving the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop.

A player who pre-orders the game will receive the Felix Felicis Potion recipe, while those who purchase the Deluxe Edition digitally will receive a free Dark Arts Garrison cap in addition to their Dark Arts cosmetics. You may get your hands on all of these features without any extra cost if you jump in during Early Access.
