Fans of Grand Theft Auto VI are freaking out about the game’s release date, which is scheduled for later this month. It’s October, an exciting month for Rockstar Games fans who believe the firm will eventually release a Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement video.
GTA 6 Trailer Leaks
A 4chan user claims to have seen a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games‘ years-in-the-making action-adventure game that has previously been heavily leaked. And GTA enthusiasts, constantly on the lookout for the tiniest tidbit about their next fixation, appeared ready to turn off their critical faculties and enjoy a tasty dosage of hopium.
Fans on Reddit got worked up, clinging to the October 26 trailer release date the 4chan user claimed to have seen (or lifted from a GTA leaker on Twitter, who “confirmed” in September that the 26th would be important), as well as the alleged game details 4chan’s alleged leaker claimed to have memorized (many of which had previously been provided by 2022’s info flood). Fans claim they don’t totally trust the 4channer, but what if?
I can now confirm that Grand Theft Auto VI announcement is set to release on 26th October 2023.

For the better part of a decade, GTA fans have been clinging to “what if?” scenarios. They yearn for more big-time crime in Rockstar’s vast, filthy, cynical worlds, and they see doors to it everywhere.
This Virginia dirt road is formed like a Roman “6”—surely a sign. In some odd promotional graphics, the golden femmebot embraces the Rockstar logo, which is also an indication that GTA 6 is on the road.
This unassuming image of a flat house in the recently released San Andreas remaster, tucked alongside photographs of instantly recognizable Rockstar environments, is also a hint, as is this t-shirt in GTA Online.
Rockstar, of course, has been deafeningly silent throughout all of this intense sleuthing; it hadn’t made any official GTA 6 news since 2022 when it informed fans in a Twitter message that work “is underway.” Since then, GTA fans have had to create their entertainment.
Many of you have been asking about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.
With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we’ve previously delivered. We’re pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the series is underway.

“Saved this for the 26th,” a popular Reddit remark said of the 4chan post, which claims the October 26 trailer would have “two cars drag racing,” “underwear guy running down the street with a snake,” “Ferris wheel,” and approximately two dozen additional Mad Libs submissions. “I don’t believe it, but we’ll see.”
“So if it’s fake,” another commenter said, “but the slim chance that it’s real is enough to get me going.”
“Hope is a beautiful thing,” someone said in response.
GTA 6 Leaks Trailer Details
A new person by the name of ‘FollowTheDamnLeakCJ’ claimed to have information regarding the upcoming GTA 6 trailer in a post on Reddit’s ‘GamingLeaksAndRumours’ thread.
According to the user, their wife worked at Rockstar and was in a position to watch the teaser ahead of time.
Despite initial skepticism, the poster supplied “proof” to the moderators, who said it helped bolster the claim.
“It is not conclusive, but it is more than other No Source posts.” “It’s a screenshot of internal Rockstar communication, implying their wife is, in fact, an employee,” a mod said.
With that out of the way and some credibility established, the message consisted of a rather extensive dissection of the trailer, including its soundtrack, which the leaker claims is ‘That’s All’ by Genesis.
The clip allegedly depicts protagonists Jason and Lucia engaging in traditional GTA antics, such as a high-speed chase with cops, a firefight at a space station, and some images of Vice City itself. In another scene, Jason and Lucia are said to be pointing pistols at each other in a seedy motel.
It’s unclear whether a release date will be included with the teaser, although comments from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick have suggested that GTA VI might be released as early as 2024.
Of course, take all of this with a grain of salt and a pinch of pepper since, as we all know, people on the internet love to make stuff up. In any event, maybe it won’t be long before GTA 6 is formally unveiled to the world.
