A recent leak unveiled new details regarding the five-star characters in the forthcoming version 4.0 of Genshin Impact. The developer, HoYoverse, has officially announced the inclusion of three fresh Fontaine characters named Lynette, Lyney, and Freminet, with speculation suggesting a familial connection between them.
According to rumours, Lyney is considered a five-star character, while Freminet and Lynette are expected to possess lower rarities. This implies that there will be three distinct re-runs in Fontaine’s initial Limited Character Banners, as Lyney will be featured as the sole new five-star character.

As per the leak, the initial part of the update will showcase Lyney, a new Pyro user, and the widely favoured Hydro character named Yelan. In the second banner cycle, players can expect the appearance of Childe and Zhongli.
The beta data from the Genshin Impact 4.0 version has confirmed that Lyney will be introduced as a new DPS character who primarily relies on his Charged Attack. Like Ganyu, Lyney’s Charged Attack will possess two different levels of damage, determined by the charging time.
Moreover, Lyney’s abilities include taunting enemies, offering players ample time to adjust their positions as required. Yelan holds immense popularity as a five-star character in the game, and her previous appearance alongside Hu Tao broke the game’s overall revenue record.
Thanks to her stacked kit, she is arguably the top Hydro character in Genshin Impact, excelling in almost every team composition. Despite being capable of dealing significant Hydro damage, her optimal role is sub-DPS since most of her damage effects persist when she is switched out.
Tartaglia, or Childe, is another formidable Hydro user, primarily fulfilling the DPS role. He might appear in the main storyline alongside other Harbingers, including Arlecchino, who has been officially introduced as one of Fontaine’s main adversaries.
The appearance of Zhongli’s banner suggests that the HoYoverse may continue featuring one Archon per update after introducing a new central region. He is unquestionably the best Geo character in Genshin Impact. His mighty kit enables him to create formidable shields and unleash devastating burst damage with his Planet Befall ability.
