A recently surfaced Genshin Impact leak features a video showcasing the unreleased five-star character Lyney as part of a Pyro team setup. In the game, a distinct combat system enables players to assemble a group of up to four diverse characters whose elemental attributes can be combined to initiate various essential reactions.
Typically, team formations in Genshin Impact consist of a primary damage dealer, a secondary damage dealer, and two support characters who offer damage enhancements, healing, or protective shields.
Although the second banner cycle for version 3.8 is a few weeks from now, the game’s official social media channels have already confirmed the new characters that will be added to the playable character roster in update 4.0.
One of the newly introduced characters is Lyney, a five-star Pyro bow user who has been the subject of numerous rumours since 2020. A recent post on Twitter by a user named timing1337 showcases Lyney’s impressive performance within a Pyro-focused team.

While previous leaks during the beta phase revealed much of Lyney’s abilities, this is the first opportunity for players to witness Lyney in actual combat.
The showcased party composition consists of three Pyro units: Lyney, Xiangling, and Bennett, along with an Anemo support, Kaedehara Kazuha. The player effectively utilizes the abilities of the supporting characters before transitioning into Lyney’s role as the primary damage dealer.
However, some fans have noticed that executing all these mechanics requires a significant amount of time, resulting in Bennett’s Fantastic Voyage field expiring even before Lyney begins shooting arrows.
Lyney’s kit revolves around his special Charged Attack, which grants an additional effect if players extend the charging time. By executing a Charged Attack, Lyney can summon a Grin-Malkin Hat that taunts nearby enemies, allowing him to maintain a safe distance.
Several players have highlighted Lyney’s potential to become the top Pyro DPS character in the game alongside Hu Tao, who wields a polearm.
Please note that the damage numbers shown in the video may not be reliable, as it appears to be recorded from a private server. Nonetheless, this leak provides valuable insight into the potential DPS rotation of Lyney in various team compositions within Genshin Impact.
One of Lyney’s most distinctive abilities is his Elemental Burst, Miracle Parade, which transforms him into a large hat that jumps around and inflicts significant area-of-effect Pyro damage.
Lyney won’t be the sole new character introduced in Genshin Impact update 4.0, as HoYoverse has also confirmed the addition of two new four-star units named Lynette and Freminet.
Genshin Impact can be played on PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version currently under development.
