Leaks regarding Fontaine in Genshin Impact have triggered a flood of information, with the latest reveal being the map of the upcoming new Region in Version 4.0.
The game recently unveiled a Fontaine teaser, showcasing a fresh lineup of characters accompanying the Traveler on their journey through Teyvat. As anticipated, the teaser presented glimpses of a Victorian steampunk realm featuring a comprehensive sewer system and an impressive, authoritative courthouse.
While Liyue was known as the nation of Contracts, Fontaine embodies the concept of Justice, and players eagerly anticipate exploring these themes in the HoYoverse over the upcoming year.
Genshin Impact’s Version 3.8 will introduce Eula and Klee as featured banners, but interestingly, it will be the first update without adding a new character. Instead, players can obtain Layla, a 4-star Cryo Sword astrologist from Rtawahist Darshan, through the flagship event.
Additionally, a new skin for Kaeya can be acquired using the event’s currency. This update will be the final installment of Genshin Impact’s Sumeru phase, setting the stage for the upcoming Fontaine content.

Recently, a Genshin Impact player named No-Lifeguard4399 shared an in-game map of Fontaine on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, although it only reveals the portion above water.
Some fans have noticed that Fontaine appears more minor than previous Regions at their respective launches. However, a significant amount of Fontaine exploration is expected to occur underwater.
While Inazuma introduced naval exploration with boats, allowing the Traveler to navigate the archipelago easily, Fontaine will take it further by introducing diving mechanics.
Genshin Impact player, No-Lifeguard4399 shares a post:
Fontaine, the upcoming region in Genshin Impact, will offer expansive underwater areas teeming with treasures and Hydroculi for players to discover. The mechanics of character abilities in three-dimensional underwater space have yet to be fully revealed.
However, diving underwater will not impose any restrictions on the characters. To enhance vertical exploration throughout Genshin Impact, the HoYoverse team plans to improve the depiction of underground zones on the world map.

Contrary to initial expectations, the Region of Fontaine features a significant amount of water, surrounded mainly by Teyvat’s inland sea. The Fontaine map connects with the new desert area introduced in Genshin Impact’s Version 3.6 and is expected to expand further toward Liyue’s borders through future updates.
Additionally, the next chapter in Teyvat’s story will introduce a new zone in Mondstadt, although the release date for this expansion remains unknown.
