The team behind the PS5 version

The PS5 port is being made by Panic Button, the studio that also brought Forza Horizon 5 to PS5. Playground Games says it is working “in close collaboration” with Panic Button and Turn 10 Studios.

The pre-order trailer was captured on a base PS5 in the 4K, 30fps Quality mode. A 60fps Performance mode will also be offered. Playground has not said how the game runs on PS5 Pro.

Three editions, three prices

As of Oct. 9, 2026, the U.S. PlayStation Store lists the game at these prices:

EditionPricePlays fromWhat’s included
Standard$69.99Jan. 26The full game
Deluxe$99.99Jan. 26Game, Welcome Pack and Car Pass
Premium$119.99Jan. 21Game, VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, two car packs and both planned expansions

Every PS5 pre-order, whatever the edition, includes a pre-tuned Ferrari J50. It is added to your garage once you finish the game’s prologue. Players who want a box can buy the game on disc at participating retailers.

The first expansion arrives first

Jan. 21 is a big day for every player, not only those on PS5. Playground says the game’s first Premium Expansion will reach all platforms that day, alongside a free content update. The expansion is included in the Premium Edition, the Premium Upgrade and the Expansions Bundle, and it will also be sold separately. Playground has not yet said what it adds.

PS5 players will also join the same online world as everyone else. Cross-play and cross-save work with the Xbox and Steam versions, and all user-made content, from EventLab races to liveries and tuning setups, is shared across platforms from day one.

What PS5 players have been missing

Forza Horizon 6 moved the series to Japan and came out on Xbox and PC in May 2026, where it costs $69.99 on Steam. Its car list now runs past 550 vehicles, counting those added since launch.

It has been one of the year’s standout releases so far. We put it at No. 1 in our ranking of the best video games of 2026 so far, and PS5 owners now have a firm date to see why.
