Fallout 4 Mod Adds Mechanic That Would Be Great For Perfect for Potential Fallout 5 Game

A brand-new feature that was recently added to a Fallout 4 mod would be ideal for a potential Fallout 5 game. Fallout 5’s most desired features are still up for debate among gamers, but Bethesda may not confirm anything specific for some time.

Gamers around the world are curious as to what Fallout 5’s main feature will be. Fallout 4’s settlement-building feature, which Bethesda first unveiled back in 2015, is still being used to create amazing builds today.

It increased Fallout 4’s replayability and gave Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic world yet another layer of complexity. The creator would add more items to use with the settlement-building feature through several DLCs.

Unsurprisingly, modders have also continued to broaden the possibilities for settlement construction, with many of them removing some of the limitations that came with the feature in the base game.

The Fallout 4 mod is called Shield Integration Project, and user driPITTY_ posted a video of it in use on Reddit. In the video, various shields, including riot shields and even an energy shield, are shown in action, deflecting enemy bullets.

It’s a feature that has never been seen in a Fallout game, but it would fit right in Fallout 5, especially given how unpolished the Fallout world is. It’s possible that it hasn’t been possible until recently because Bethesda games’ past issues have frequently been caused by the game engine more than by any other issue.

The user continues to describe the features of the mod in more detail in the comments. Players can shield-bash enemies by using the shields, making them effective offensive and defensive weapons.

Although melee hasn’t always been the most straightforward gameplay mode in Fallout games, this mod may change that in the future. Unfortunately, unlike shields in other shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it does not shield the player from behind when equipped, even though sheathing it causes odd positioning.

Hopefully, this is something that can be fixed, as it would give the mod a little more immersion. No matter when Fallout 5 comes out, Bethesda must keep allowing modding support for the games.

For the past eight years, the Fallout 4 modding community has kept the game alive. As a result of the devoted modders who keep adding fresh features to the game, Bethesda’s other flagship RPG, Skyrim, continues to have a sizable player base.

Since Bethesda is known for employing skilled modders to work on its games, hopefully, Fallout 5 will incorporate some elements from previously released mods.
