Like other games, Europa Universalis IV has an in-game console where you may enter instructions to create different effects.
EU4 in particular is a sophisticated and very complicated strategy game, with a plethora of goals that may necessitate aiming at the provincial or even national level.

Here is a list of all EU4 cheats:

| winwars | Get max warscore in all wars you are currently fighting |
| annex/integrate | Begin annexation/integration of a country. Can also work with ‘vassalize’, ‘protectorate’, and ‘form_union’ |
| add_claim | Add claim to a province. Can also use ‘remove_claim’ |
| add_core | As above, just with cores |
| controll | Gives you control of a province |
| culture | Changes province culture to your primary culture |
| cash | Gives you 5K in cash |
| population | Add 10 population to a colony |
| colonize | Finishes colonizing a province |
| god | Godmode on/off |
| add_cb | Gives you a casus belli. Needs the casus belli type, as well as the target country tag. Types include ‘cb_restore_personal_union’ and ‘cb_vassalize_mission’ |
| clear | Clears the console |
First and foremost, it is important to note that the in-game console is deactivated when playing in Ironman mode. This is because achievements are only available in Ironman, and using any console command is considered cheating, therefore the achievement data would be skewed.
