Capcom has officially announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22, 2024, as initially revealed earlier this month. To illustrate that it’s the enormous, emergent circus that fans have been waiting for since the original, the fantasy RPG launched a new trailer and provided more details about its gameplay and plot, and it all looks and sounds fantastic.
Capcom said yesterday at a Dragon’s Dogma 2 preview that the sequel will take place in a world comparable to yet distinct from the one in the previous game. A Dragon will still capture the player’s character’s heart, providing them the abilities of the Arisen, and creatures from another realm known as Pawns can still be summoned to help the player on their adventure.
The plot of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be half reboot, part remake, and will center on the human kingdom of Vermund, which is trapped in a succession fight, and Battahl, the eastern nation where Pawns are ostracized.
We don’t know how it will all play out, but Dragon’s Dogma has always been about wreaking havoc in epic fights against mythical monsters. The most recent clip featured the bronze giant Talos, who resembles a Greek Titan.

Capcom has also revealed a new class named Trickster. It’s a support position that allows you to mislead foes and make them fight amongst themselves by using smoke and illusions.
It also contains buffing powers that may be applied to your whole combat team. Players can switch between them after visiting the guild in town, as they do with the other “vocations” in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
We also got a more precise look at the character creator in the game. Making a beaten allows you to experiment with a surprising number of features, ranging from fur patterns and thicknesses to micromanaging ear sizes.
A slider may be used to adjust anything from the tips and lobes to the angle and openness. It absolutely feels like something people will spend an hour fiddling with before even beginning the game (which is why I now use defaults).

“Dragon’s Dogma is a game that I dreamed of playing as a boy who loved TRPG-based games and action games, and I have a special attachment to it,” director Hideaki Itsuno said on the PlayStation Blog. “Dragon’s Dogma 2 incorporates ideas that were not technically feasible when the first game was created.” I think this game will allow you to explore the fantasy world you’ve always wanted to visit, as well as be the ultimate Dragon’s Dogma action simulator game.”
