Dreadwolf Rises Dragon Age Gameplay Leak Reveals New Features

There has supposedly been a leak of 20 minutes of alpha gameplay from Bioware’s upcoming Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. However, the leaker, who originally posted on Reddit to spread the news, refrained from making the complete movie available to the public and instead only posted a brief gif and some screenshots, the links to which have since been removed.

However, the original page is still accessible (and the pictures and video can be located with enough effort), providing us with a wealth of information on the next RPG, including some that we have not yet heard much about.

The leaker said that the alpha footage was obtained from a friendly playtester who was shuffled to another project and that they refrained from releasing the whole video for fear of revealing the playtester’s identity (which it probably would, quite honestly).

They went on to say that the gameplay seen is set in the Gray Warden fortress HQ of Weisshaupt and that the hack-and-slash style of action seen in the demo was purportedly inspired by Santa Monica’s 2018 God of War revival.

“The most immediate thing you noticed is that animation quality has DRASTICALLY improved,” the OP teased. “Like, for any other AAA title, it’s probably not that big a deal. But we’ve never seen animation quality this good in any BioWare game. I didn’t actually play it, but I can tell it probably feels really good to control your character. No more stiff animations, it’s all very fluid and seems also very responsive.”

The leaker also said that ultimate/special abilities would be playable, with a bar that would fill up as you fought, but thinks it’s a safe bet. you will not be able to directly control your party members in the game, though this could just be due to the fact that the build in question is extremely early and lacks the mechanic in question.

Hopefully, this will put to rest some speculation by revealing that the OP thinks the ability wheel is similar to a normal Dragon Age ability wheel, rather than an imitation of Final Fantasy 15’s ability wheel. And you still have the ability to make a successful jump.
