Darktide Weapon: First, there are the “Perks” that players can apply to their weapons at the Epic and Uncommon rarity levels. Then there are the Blessings, which may be found at the Rare and Legendary rarity levels in the lower area of the Weapon Details.
The Blessings have unique iconography associated with them and a slightly more “diverse” range in terms of the size of their effects. Which of these categories, then, is the finest among both them?
In Warhammer 40k: Darktide, there are more than 60 different types of weapons, each with a sizable pool of potential Blessings and Perk rolls. Let’s choose the top contenders in each category.
Gratitude: Deflector
The first Blessing is Deflector, which is only available to Psykers, for the best since it would probably make ranged combat pointless if it were available to other weapons or classes. Ranged units are genuinely terrifying in Darktide. Depending on the complexity, even simple mobs can quickly take out a player at total health with a barrage or two.
Being able to really “block” ranged strikes thanks to the Deflector Blessing on the Psyker’s Obscurus MK II Blaze Force Sword makes a significant impact on the game’s squishiest class. However, Psykers will probably also want to use the Kinetic Deflection Feat with this Blessing because doing so would quickly deplete their stamina.
Damage To Unyielding Enemies as a Perk
Discuss the damage and enemy types in Darktide’s first potential perk. Players may initially believe that the game’s foes are divided into only a few distinct “categories,” including simple mobs, Elites, Specialists, and horrors. But the situation is a little more nuanced than that. In Darktide, every enemy can be classified as one or more of the following:
Infected, Unarmored, Flak, Armoured, Carapace, Unyielding, Armoured, Maniac. As a result, let’s concentrate on the basic idea, Unyielding Enemies, rather than going into detail about which category each adversary belongs into. Only a few things fit under this category, including the unarmored portions of the Reaper and Bulwark opponents.
However, the Monstrosities, also known as Beasts of Nurgle, Plague Ogryns, and Daemonhosts, are the most significant foes that fall solely into the Unyielding category. Therefore, keep an eye out for this Perk if a player wants a weapon that specifically damages these foes for some genuinely satisfying damage.
Gratitude: Power Cycler
Darktide’s Munitorum MK III Power Sword is the closest approach to a “meta” weapon they currently have. The Power Sword has good swings and damage by default, but its special move steals the show.
The Force Sword, Eviscerator, Thunder Hammer, Power Maul, Crusher, Chainsword, or Chainaxe are a few examples of weapons that the Power Sword functions similarly to in that it charges up for its next assault when the Special Action button is pressed.
Specifically, the Power Sword becomes energized, and while energized, it has unlimited cleave (or at least used to before patch 1.0.20). Because of this, the Power Sword may complete a mission for a class famed for its gun-based powers, the Sharpshooter.
In light of this, a Blessing that extends the duration of the Power Sword’s energized state is a welcome addition, and Power Cycler accomplishes this with each Chained Energized Hit.
Elite Melee Damage as a Perk
Next, let’s talk about a helpful perk that was previously outrageous due to a flaw. Before a recent patch, melee damage against Elites perk-equipped weapons added a 0 at the end of that percentage (AKA 60, 80, and 100 percent).
Even with the issue, this Perk is still helpful because it helps characters like the Zealot or Ogryn quickly dispatch priority Elite opponents like the Crusher, Reaper, or Bulwark when they suddenly appear.
Blessing: Momentum
The Zealot and Ogryn don’t have trouble renewing toughness; that’s the point. Both have numerous Feats or general perks that provide them rapid access to various ways to regain toughness quickly. It is very significant to introduce another method of recovering toughness, especially one that involves horde clearance. That is precisely what the Momentum Blessing accomplishes.
When a user of the Butcher Cleaver, Krourk Cleaver, Bully Club, Eviscerator, or Thunder Hammer strikes three or more foes with a single swing, they instantly gain 10-15% Toughness (with no visible cooldown). This makes it such that a good Ogryn (or Zealot) player will be virtually unkillable in a horde scenario.
Bonus: Block Efficiency
Anyone who spent some time playing Warhammer: Vermintide 2, a previous title from Fatshark, is probably well aware of the advantages of having a high Block Efficiency stat. For those who might be a little perplexed by the language of this attribute, it essentially merely lowers the amount of stamina lost when a player deflects an enemy’s assault.
And they’ll be obstructing a lot, especially on more complex difficulties. Even Psykers who aren’t employing Kinetic Deflection may tank Daemonhosts for their squad easily if they have the appropriate build and adequate Block Efficiency. Additionally, it’s one of the Perks that can be obtained on Curios and gives players access to up to +50% higher Block Efficiency (if they work for it).
Gratitude: Lacerate
Technically, the Blessing is currently only “great” when used with a particular Zealot build, although it is also generally just instrumental. Lacerate is a specific ability that, depending on the enemy’s Blessing Level, deals 1-4 stacks of Bleed to them for each non-Weakpot Hit. That will be a lot of hits, mainly because it can only be found on the Catachan MIII Combat Blade, which essentially serves as a dagger.
Zealots create a construct that, if played correctly, practically enables them to survive forever against any enemy by combining this specific Weapon and Blessing combo with their Feats that enhance Toughness Reduction, offer extra cooldown to their Ability, and increase their chances of Critical Hits.
Melee Weak Spot Damage: Perk
Now, melee weapons also deal more damage when they strike Weak Spots in Warhammer 40k: Darktide, not only guns. Therefore, gamers should strive to swing their weapon so that it hits their head when clearing a horde or even working on bringing down an Elite enemy.
Fortunately, this shouldn’t be too challenging, given how many weapons have a good spread of vertical and horizontal attacks. And when some extra Melee Weak Spot damage is introduced, the player can exterminate hordes even more quickly.
Shattering Impact: Blessing
Let’s talk about “Rending” as the last of the Blessings. Regrettably, there isn’t an in-game glossary of terms that provides a clear explanation for each of the names used to describe Blessings and Perks, such as Hit Mass, Impact, Cleave, or Rending.
But now that many of these keywords have generic definitions, it’s because of devoted followers, testing, and even data mining. Rending is especially helpful because it functions as an “armor penetration” or “armor shred,” which may make killing opponents with heavy armor like the Maulers, Crushers, and Scab Ragers a breeze.
Reloading Speed: Perk
Finally, let’s discuss Reload Speed, one of the more “rare” Perks to find on a weapon. Reload Speed doesn’t seem to be a Perk that shows up frequently, at least not yet. But if it does, there is rarely a good reason to ignore it unless you are a Psyker and locate it on a weapon.
Players are better equipped for every mission and can react to foes more quickly in every situation if they can reload their weapons more quickly. Sure, 7–10% Reload Speed might not seem like much at first, but when combined with some Feats on some classes, such as the Sharpshooter, it might add up.
