It’s been an exciting 24 hours for Xbox Showcase rumors. According to Tom Warren at The Verge, this year’s Call of Duty game, Black Ops Gulf War, will be featured at the Xbox Showcase.
We confirm this plan, but the game will be revealed before the showcase in a more traditional way, not within Warzone like previous titles since 2020. Usually, Call of Duty games were revealed in big live events in the free Battle Royale game mode, Warzone.
Black Ops Gulf War is expected to be revealed before June’s Summer Games Fest. At the showcase, we’ll likely get a detailed look at the game, possibly with a walkthrough of a campaign mission if they follow the usual style.
More details about multiplayer might come around August, and news about zombies mode will likely follow. The game is set to be released in October.
As mentioned before, this year’s Call of Duty will have an open-world campaign made by Raven Software, while Treyarch Games will handle the multiplayer and zombie modes.
It’s also been hinted that Xbox is preparing to announce its plans for the games it acquired from Activision Blizzard, which might mean more Call of Duty news in June.
What do you think about Call of Duty returning to a more traditional way of revealing its games?
