It’s a positive development for DICE and Battlefield 2042’s comeback. The game has been making rapid progress in recent months, and its popularity has skyrocketed since it was available on EA Play.
That’s the tagline for the latest season of Battlefield 2042, and it fits well. A former DICE employee says “Battlefield 2042 never stood much chance of being great at launch” in a recent report.

The developers have stated, “Season 5 for Battlefield 2042 deploys across all platforms on Wednesday, June 7 at 12:00 UTC, while Update 5.0.0 goes live at 08:00 UTC.” Despite the previous update, Season 5 won’t begin until 8 AM ET / 1 PM BST / 5 AM PT on Sunday, October 22.
