Fans eager for the release of Alan Wake 2 have positive news from Remedy Entertainment: the game’s construction appears to be going fairly well. The much anticipated Alan Wake 2 is the follow-up to the first cult hit horror video game from 2010, which charmed fans of the genre with its novel plot and flashlight-based gameplay.
Alan Wake 2 was formally revealed at The Game Awards barely two months after Alan Wake Remastered was released in October 2021, bringing the game to PlayStation gamers for the first time after eleven years of Xbox system exclusivity.
It has since become one of the most anticipated AAA titles of 2023. After fans discovered prominent allusions to Alan Wake in FBC documents in Control, Remedy also stated that the universes of Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and its 2019 original title Control all exist in the same Remedy Connected Universe in 2020.
Even though Remedy has several active projects, it appears that Alan Wake 2 will release the soonest. Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy Entertainment, said that Alan Wake 2 has reached the final stage of production in a financial earnings report.
He said that the Alan Wake 2 sequel is still on schedule to arrive later this year and that, as is customary in the AAA gaming industry, some devs would be moved to Remedy’s other projects as shipping day approaches.
Remedy is currently working on a number of additional projects, including Alan Wake 2. The 2019 blockbuster Control’s sequel advanced into the proof-of-concept stage earlier this year, according to the earnings report.
The same was stated of Codename Condor, a cooperative multiplayer game set in the enigmatic realm of Control. Codename Vanguard, a free-to-play cooperative game by Remedy, and the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes are also in the proof-of-concept phase.

All things considered, it appears like Alan Wake 2 is the undertaking that has advanced the most in terms of development and is therefore the best prepared for release.
Fans shouldn’t be surprised to learn the release date of Alan Wake 2 in June as part of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest or even during Xbox or PlayStation’s Summer showcases, as the game is almost finished and on schedule to be released this year.
It’s also a sure bet that the eagerly anticipated sequel may aim for a release in the fall of 2023, possibly even in October given its prominence as a blockbuster horror film.
