(Lint in your pocket) Several years ago, when Asobo Studio was just starting out, they released a game called A Plague Tale: Innocence that came out of nowhere. The game was set in 14th-century France, following the exploits of Amicia de Rune and her younger brother Hugo.
The novel descends into some incredibly bleak depths as the title suggests, suggesting that things become quite plaguey rather rapidly. Now that a sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem, is in the works, we’ve compiled all the information you’ll need to prepare.
The rat is out of the bag: #APlagueTale: Requiem releases on October 18 2022.

A Plague Tale Requiem Horror Story Platforms
The major news is that, on release day, Requiem will be added to Xbox Game Pass, making it immediately playable on Xbox One and Xbox 360 for no additional cost.
However, this does not imply that the game will just be available on the Xbox One; we already know that it will be released on the PS5, Switch, and PC.
We’d imagine that the Switch version of the game would include some cloud streaming, given it seems visually heavy, and it also doesn’t appear like the game will be coming out for either the PS4 or Xbox One, making it a next-gen experience.
Requiem: A Plague Tale Story
After Amicia and Hugo slew a perverted Grand Inquisitor at the conclusion of the last game, the plague of rats that Hugo had been able to control owing to a bloodline curse looked to have been extinguished, but the problem doesn’t seem to have been completely resolved.
Based on what we know about Requiem thus far, Hugo and his siblings, along with their mother Beatrice, will be traveling far to the south in search of a permanent cure and a means to escape the region’s suspicion.
It’s not hard to guess that they’ll encounter either allies or more powerful enemies aiming to influence them, and the clips we’ve seen suggest that Amicia’s life is about to become rather chaotic once again.
A Plague Tale: Requiem Gameplay
The gameplay video from Requiem was finally shown in June 2022 courtesy of a full reveal live broadcast by Focus Entertainment, and it seems to be a clear expansion of the original.
Some recurring elements from Innocence are present in Requiem. Your main character, Amicia, is equipped with a sling, a new crossbow, and some sneaky stealth abilities, and you’ll use them to get past stronger adversaries and guards as you explore the world.
It will need strategic planning to escape their clutches and defeat them, but we’ll also get to utilize Hugo’s talents to guide swarms of rats about again, which was one of the highlights of the original game.
We’ll need to resort to fire and light to get away from them once again, but with Hugo in the picture, it’s evident that we’ll be putting those rats to good use for ourselves, too. A recent blog post verified the staggering increase in the number of rats being generated from 5,000 in the original game to a staggering 300,000 in Requiem, which seems like it may be rather horrifying.
Watch The Trailer For A Plague Tale: Requiem, And Find Out When It’s Coming Out
During its premiere at E3 in June 2021, the first trailer for Requiem displayed a wide variety of gameplay from what seems to be a rich campaign. After that, the news was scarce, but it did conclude with a release timetable of some time in 2022.
Focus Entertainment gave us a release date and showed us additional gameplay during a special live towards the end of June 2022. Release date, 18 October 2022: A Plague Tale: Requiem.
A second teaser showing additional in-game footage was released before the end of 2021. It confirms the game’s availability on Xbox Game Pass and provides a significant piece of information regarding the supported platforms.
Earlier in June 2022, the third teaser with very impressive scenes debuted as part of Xbox’s summer presentation. This clip gives the impression that Amicia will have to do some very terrible tasks once again.
Final Words
We’re hoping that the campaign will include a wide variety of settings, as seen by the video, which shows anything from lively cities and alleyways to ruins and estates. For more latest and updated information stay tuned with us here at Gameempress.com.
