A Link To The Past Map Gameplay
Unlike Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, which added a side-scrolling viewpoint, the original The Legend of Zelda’s overhead perspective is used in A Link to the Past. You’ll find some familiar gameplay components in A Link to the Past, such as the Hyrule Field and the Spirit Tracks, as well as some brand-new twists and improvements.

While the priest watches over Zelda, Link sets out over Hyrule in search of the pendants. With Sahasrahla’s help, Link is able to retrieve all three pendants and become the Master Sword’s wielder. But when he investigates, Links discovers the deceased priest and Zelda in Agahnim’s custody.
Link confronts him, but he’s too late to save Zelda, who’s been banished to the Dark World, where he and the cursed Link end up in the form of an anthropomorphic rabbit. Now that he has broken the curse, Link must free the Seven Sages from their prison.
Following this, Link successfully faces Agahnim once again, killing him. At that point, Ganon materializes and flies off to the Pyramid of Power in the Dark World. When Link lands there, he engages in battle with Ganon. After defeating Ganon, Link touches the Triforce and is granted his wish, which causes his uncle and the priest to be resurrected and the king of Hyrule to recover his throne. Now that peace has been restored to Hyrule, Link has put away Master Sword and is living a regular life with his uncle.
