Of late, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has been hitting the headlines. The creators dropped an intense teaser trailer, along with the announcement of the voice actors for the four main characters in the next story set in Night City. The series is scheduled to release on Netflix in Fall 2026.
However, it looks like Netflix Korea may have accidentally revealed the exact premiere date for the anime. This happened right after the second official teaser trailer came out, which was also released on all Netflix regional platforms at the same time.
While official accounts used “Fall 2026,” Netflix Korea reportedly pinned a comment under the video that gave the exact release date as October 20. However, the mistake was quickly noticed and fixed. It was later changed back to “this fall.” But by then, many fans had already taken screenshots, which spread across online fan communities.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 Team
Rafał Jaki served as showrunner and executive producer on the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which was produced by CD PROJEKT RED with Studio Trigger and set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. His manga No\Name is a separate project and is not the source material for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Produced by Japan’s TRIGGER studio (Promare, Kill la Kill) in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, the upcoming sequel series is led by Bartosz Sztybor, who worked on the first series.
The series will be a completely separate story about veteran solo Weak (voiced by Kentaro Tone), netrunner Dee/D (voiced by Koki Uchiyama), cinephile Roman Carax (voiced by Momoka Terasawa) and Talia (voiced by Akari Kito), who is connected to the Maelstrom gang. The anime’s official website also teased a mysterious fifth character (as “Coming Soon”).
Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 will have 10 episodes.
