Marcus Lehto, Ridgeline Games’ game director, has already departed EA and his studio after a little over two years with the business.
The story was initially reported by Twitter user @DANNYonPC, who shared images of Lehto’s apparent sudden departure. All references to Battlefield and Ridgeline Games have been erased, as confirmed by Lehto himself on Facebook earlier today.
Seems like @game_fabricator has left EA, removing all references of battlefield from his bio, problems are starting already? pic.twitter.com/kqzsWCnTl6

It’s unclear if Lehto has departed the studio himself or whether it has completely shut down. As DANNYonPC points out, there are presently no available positions at Ridgeline Games on the official EA website.
Lehto joined EA shortly after the release of Battlefield 2042 as part of a significant franchise reorganization, where he was tasked with establishing a new development team in Seattle focused on adding more stories into the Battlefield world.
Several months after his formal announcement, it was reported that Lehto would be the Creative Director of a new studio called Ridgeline Games.
Earlier last month, Lehto shared an image of Ridgeline Games and its staff on social media, hinting that everything was OK.
In a recent earnings call, EA stated that it is working on its next Battlefield product, which would be a “reimagining of Battlefield.”
