Update (October 2026): “Unblocked Games Premium” is still not one official site, and the risks below still apply. A July 2026 Hechinger Report investigation found students using proxy servers and hidden game pages to beat filters. One filter company now uses AI to block those tricks. We do not link to any unblocked games site.
“Unblocked Games Premium” is a name used by several websites that collect free browser games. They are popular with students who want something to play on school networks, where many gaming sites are filtered.
What are unblocked games sites?
These sites gather simple HTML5 and browser games in one place. HTML5 games are games that run inside a web page. We have also looked at Unblocked Games 67 EZ and whether it is safe.
Many of the sites are built on free hosting services such as Google Sites. The same name is often reused by several different, unconnected pages, so there is no single official “Unblocked Games Premium”.
Are unblocked games sites safe?
| Risk | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| They are unofficial | Games on these pages may be copies uploaded without the original developer’s involvement. Pages can disappear or change without warning. |
| Ads and pop-ups | Some copycat sites carry heavy advertising, fake download buttons or links to unrelated pages. |
| Phishing (fake sign-in pages) | Never enter a Google, school or Roblox password on a page that asks you to sign in to play a browser game. |
| Rules still apply | Getting around a school or workplace filter can break that organization’s acceptable-use policy, with real consequences. |
How schools are fighting back in 2026
In July 2026, The Hechinger Report published an investigation by Jackie Mader based on interviews with more than 45 parents, educators and experts.
It found young students reaching games and inappropriate content even in districts that had filters and monitoring in place. In Australia, an eSafety report found gaps in how Roblox, Steam, Fortnite and Minecraft protect kids.
Filter companies are adding AI
Brian Larkin is director of product management at the filtering company GoGuardian. He told Hechinger that students use proxy servers, which act as a go-between to hide the real site, to get past filters. He said they also hide games inside school-appropriate websites.
Larkin said the company had recently started using artificial intelligence to block those workarounds for districts.
Some districts are cutting back on devices
Some districts are going further and moving away almost entirely from technology, especially in the earliest grades. Hechinger named Los Angeles Unified as the largest district to do so, in April 2026.
What this means for students
A site that works today may be blocked tomorrow. And the tricks used to reach it are the kind of workarounds filter companies now target.
Safer ways to play free browser games
- Play browser games from well-known official sources, such as a developer’s own website or established game portals.
- Download games only from official app stores and storefronts.
- If you need a break at school, ask whether there is an approved time or approved games.
