Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Gameplay
The gameplay will be quite similar to that of Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2, in which four players must work together to destroy waves of foes controlled by AI. This will be the case with the upcoming game as well.
The game will not include a roster of pre-made characters; rather, it will provide players the ability to personalize their character’s class, appearance, and gender. The Veteran, the Zealot, the Ogryn, and the Psyker are the four different classes. Every class will have access to a regenerating shield at some point.

In contrast to Vermintide 2, there will be many missions that take place in the same location. Some of these missions will have extra objectives that are completely optional but will reward players with greater loot. The level of difficulty will be determined by a combination of two factors: the first is the number of enemies encountered, and the second is the amount of damage taken from those foes.
The progression system will include a combination of random rewards, an in-game currency that can be used to buy weapons, and a contract system that can be used to earn a weapon of your choosing. The developers have stated that Darktide will have a closer representation of a 50/50 mix between melee and ranged combat than Vermintide 2, which will feature a greater emphasis on close-quarters combat.

The company Fatshark made the announcement in July 2021 that the release date would be pushed back from 2021 to spring 2022 because of the issues that have arisen as a direct result of the COVID-19 epidemic.
