The path to the release of the post-apocalyptic open-world MMO has been difficult. The Day Before has long been a top wishlist game on Steam due to an intriguing idea, but controversy is never far behind.
When developer Fnatic put out a request for part-time volunteers to conduct community and translation work for non-monetary benefits, it raised several eyebrows.
Fans became apprehensive as the game’s release date approached without seeing much of it, causing many to joke that it didn’t exist. That wouldn’t be the worst of it, as the developer would subsequently be forced to postpone the Steam MMO owing to a trademark issue that would be resolved in the end.
However, we have gotten some peeks of the game in between all of this. So far, everything we’ve seen suggests a game in which you’ll perform a lot of foraging and resource management while cutting down the occasional zombie.
Fnatic guarantees that’s only the top of the iceberg, but we won’t have to wait long to find out. The Day Before will be available in Early Access on December 7, and you can read on to find out when the Steam MMO will be available in your time zone.

The Day Before will be available on Steam on December 7 at 10 a.m. PST. Here’s what it means in other time zones:
- 10 am PST (Los Angeles)
- 1 pm EST (New York)
- 2 pm BRT (Rio de Janeiro)
- 6 pm GMT (London)
- 7 pm CET (Paris)
- 5 am AEST (Sydney)
The Day Before’s journey to launch week has been unusual. It was one of the most wanted titles on Steam for almost a year because of the buzz around its 2021 reveal video. As time passed without any fresh information, the initial delivery date approached with no update from the creators.

Fntastic finally released a new video, but it was delayed and was the subject of a legal dispute over its name, which was derived from a calendar app, of all things. It’s been a strange year.
But then it announced a new release date (a month later), and that day is almost here. And, as far as we know, it is indeed launching. Despite the uncertainties and odd communication stance, I am a prime candidate for an open-world survival MMO. If you haven’t had enough of zombies yet, Thursday is the day to visit New Fortune City.
