Respawn has announced today that a new location will be opening in Madison, Wisconsin. This most recent addition might work on other initiatives in the future, but for the time being, it will be concentrating on Apex Legends support.
Ryan Burnett, a former director of engine production for Epic Games, is now the studio director. He also worked for Raven Software for 14 years. To expand the studio, the Madison branch collaborates closely with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
In 2019, Respawn established a support facility for Apex Legends in Vancouver. It appears that Electronic Arts and Respawn want to keep the battle royale genre expanding with this new studio.
Burnett claims that the branch is an expansion of the core Apex team that will work with the studios in LA and Vancouver, not a remote live ops department, in an interview with the new studio leads for GamesIndustry.biz.
Apex Legends: A Franchise Built to Last 10-15 Years
Three locations may seem like a lot, but Respawn seems to have big plans for Apex Legends, particularly in terms of its longevity. Game director Steven Ferreira discusses how long-term the development of Apex is in response to a question about crunch and quality of life.

“Team health is a top priority for us because we’re in this for the long haul,” Ferreira said.
“We believe in Apex as a franchise that’s going to be around for 10, 15 years or more and we’re excited to make that happen. To do that, we can’t just put everything all upfront, burn ourselves out and not be ready to do that in the long haul.”

That’s a long time, but Apex Legends has persevered as an online game after the online game shut down. Maybe there is a bright future for this battle royale. God willing, that will eventually include more Titanfall games.
