Today, PlayStation U.K. talked about the lower price on Twitter. After this, people in Europe said that game stores lowered the price of the PS5 again.
Sony Discounts PS5 in UK, US Price Still Unchanged
Sony usually doesn’t lower the prices of their products quickly, one after another. But now they have, which makes the recent leaks about the new PS5’s design seem more believable.
These leaks show that the new PS5 might have a disc drive that can be removed. This is not the same as the rumored PS5 Pro. The updated PS5 seems the same size as the current one but has some changes inside, like different parts and components.

There is no news about the price going down for the PS5 in the U.S. But it’s important to know that the PS5 costs more in places where the price has gone down. Sony probably doesn’t need to worry about having too many consoles left in stock.
Because of all this, the people who know a lot about Sony’s plans for their game console are probably right. Except for the PS5 Pro, every time there has been a leak about Sony’s new consoles, it has turned out to be true. So, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Sony announced a new PS5 very soon.
PS5 Slim With Detachable Disc Drive
Sony is making the PS5 cheaper again after the last price drop. This might be because they want to sell all the current PS5s quickly. They might be planning to release a new version called the PS5 Slim.
This new version could have a disc drive that you can take off. If this happens, they might stop making the current PS5 versions with and without a disc drive.
If true, it would make sense for Sony to sell all the current PS5s before announcing the PS5 Slim. Lowering the price is a good way for people to buy them faster.
