Probably Stolen, the cyberpunk shopkeeping game from developer Questing Goose Studio and publisher tinyBuild, has sold half a million copies, the team announced on Steam on Oct. 30, 2026, two days after the game launched.
“Probably Stolen continues to grow and we are now sitting at half a million units sold,” the team wrote in the announcement. The same post put the game’s Steam reviews at 96% positive from nearly 3,000 reviews.
The game came out on Oct. 28, 2026, for Windows PC. In it, players run a shop on a dystopian space station, crafting, trading and smuggling goods “of questionable origin” while trying to earn enough to buy out the shop before rising rent forces their hand, according to its Steam store page.
How the numbers climbed
The team has posted a running count since launch day. On Oct. 28, 2026, it said the game had sold 200,000 copies in its first few hours and reached more than 86,000 players at once. A day later, it said sales had passed 350,000 in the first 24 hours and that the game had peaked at more than 112,000 concurrent players, in a post on Oct. 29, 2026.
Those sales figures come from the team; Game Empress has not independently verified them.
Steam’s public player-count service showed 140,266 people playing Probably Stolen at 15:08 UTC (11:08 a.m. EDT) on Oct. 31, 2026. That exceeded the 112,000-plus concurrent-player peak the team reported after its first 24 hours. Player counts fluctuate throughout the day.

A security change for mods
On Oct. 31, 2026, the developer released update 1.0.0.6, which it titled a “Modding Security Update.” The patch notes say the update “makes changes to the modding system to improve security” and that some mods “may break and will need to be updated by their authors.” The notes do not say what prompted the change. The same update added a “Menu / Back” key binding that performs the same functions as Esc.
The game had dozens of mods on the Steam Workshop on launch day, the team said in its Oct. 28, 2026, post. Probably Stolen was selling for $17.99 on Steam in the U.S., 10% off, when Game Empress checked on Oct. 31, 2026.
