Last Epoch Early Access: Unfold The Epochs, Forge Your Legend

Last Epoch Early Access

Diablo IV is at a crossroads, with a third season that has arrived to a less than enthusiastic reception. Its player base, at least some of them, is becoming dissatisfied with the bland seasonal content they are expected to purchase each time, and while Diablo IV has a shelf life of another decade, the Blizzard team must correct this course as soon as possible before anyone else steps in and takes advantage.

And by anybody, we mean Last Epoch, a potential Diablo IV beater that will be released in early access on February 21st and is now gaining traction among the ARPG audience.

Lost Epoch, which has been in Early Access for what seems like an eternity, is almost ready for prime time. With Path of Exile 2 on the horizon, it appears Diablo IV will have to fight on two fronts, but each game may have a slightly different fanbase on the edges.

Last Epoch is set in a slightly (just slightly) more complicated world than D4, allowing it to expand out gameplay that Diablo IV must gloss over.

The game, which has five character classes, each with three masteries, has recently released the final mastery of the Acolyte Class – the Warlock, and it has been positively received by potential gamers.

Many D4 gamers enjoy playing as the Necromancer, turning the dead into their minions, and the Warlock appears to be just as popular in Last Epoch.

When the Last Epoch arrives, it will be available in the required multi-edition format, with the base edition priced at $34.99 / $29.99. The base edition includes the Golden Guppy cosmetic item.

The Deluxe edition costs $49.99 / £41.99 and contains 50 Epoch Points, three cosmetics, and the soundtrack.

The Last Epoch Ultimate Edition is the ultimate Last Epoch experience, costing $64.99 / £54.99 and including seven cosmetics, 100 Epoch Points, and the soundtrack.

There are upgrade pathways available, so we would recommend starting with the base edition and seeing all it has to offer before investing in the extras unless you have already played the EA and determined it is for you.

The Last Epoch launches on Steam on February 21st.
