Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remake: Horizon: Zero Dawn’s visual polish and compelling depiction of a post-apocalyptic world have made it a standout in the video game industry.
The first game’s open world and story impressed, and the sequel expanded on those strengths. However, rumors are circulating that a PS5 version is in the works.
A PS5 remake or remaster of Horizon: Zero Dawn has been the subject of persistent rumors in recent times. Unfortunately, at this time, there aren’t very many known facts about the exciting possibility.
Unexpected developments are discussed in the latest rumor, providing more context for the speculated PS5 remake. Guerrilla Games, the studio behind the original Horizon: Zero Dawn, reportedly isn’t working on the PS5 remake.
Colin Moriarty, a respected member of the industry, was the one to reveal the shocking news. This was all revealed in a recent episode of the Sacred Symbols+ podcast, where Colin was the guest (locked behind a paywall on Patreon).
Another developer of the PlayStation 5 version of Horizon: Zero Dawn is rumored to be in charge. Although Colin was unable to confirm the integrity of the rumored Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake, he did state that its development is being helmed without the direct interference of Guerrilla Games.
According to Colin, a different studio, possibly one of PlayStation’s own, is working on the next-gen version. “We’re also assuming that [Guerrilla] is making the Horizon remake thing there,” the source explained, “although, if that’s real, what I’ve heard is that it’s at another team.”
Colin reaffirmed that he would not disclose which studio is possibly developing the next-generation version of Horizon: Zero Dawn out of respect for the people involved.
While some players may be disappointed that Guerrilla Games hasn’t been working on an updated Horizon: Zero Dawn, the studio has been and will continue to be, extremely busy with the IP.

The group is currently working on numerous Horizon-related endeavors. For example, the official game expansion, Horizon: Forbidden West: Burning Shores, is scheduled for release in April 2023.
Moreover, Guerrilla Games and Firesprite are working together to create Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a virtual reality spinoff for the PlayStation VR2 headset.
The alluring studio also recently confirmed an internal team is developing a free-to-play online game set in the lore-filled and vast Horizon universe.
It sounds like both the graphics and the gameplay will be improved in the PS5 remake of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Examples include a “reworked texture pack” and an “improved lighting system” (including ambient occlusion.
