Hogwarts Legacy Players Divided Over Missing Feature

On Reddit, Harry Potter fans are divided over a missing feature in Hogwarts Legacy. Players in Hogwarts Legacy have a wide range of customization options and the ability to change many things.

Whether changing your physical appearance at any time or using the transmog system to change gear, the game allows players much freedom in the name of immersion.

It appears that one of the game’s fundamental design philosophies is to prioritize player freedom over immersion. This is why, as a student, you can do things like to explore beyond Hogwarts at night, which you cannot do in canon.

Because it is not canon, the game is constantly breaking canon and tradition. To the chagrin of some players, it does not break a single rule.

When you design your wand at the start of the game, make sure you like it because you can’t change it or get a new one at any point in the game. All you can do is customize the handle.

Why is this? The bond between a wizard and their wand is extraordinary in Harry Potter. Rods are supposed to be final, and if you end up losing or breaking your wand, it’s a big deal. This can be frustrating in a game that throws many Harry Potter rules and customs out the window.

The post above is one of the most popular on the Hogwarts Legacy page this week, indicating that many people agree with the viewpoint. Others, however, have questioned the idea of changing your wand in the comments section, pointing out that it’s not very Harry Potter to adjust your rod whenever you want.

“Don’t worry, and there are a lot of handles. “You’ll find one that fits,” one response says. However, asking this question is considered impolite. Wands aren’t meant to be changed; they’re meant to be lifelong companions to the wizard who carries them.”

Hogwarts Legacy is a PC, PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X game. It will be available on PS4 and Xbox One on April 4 before arriving on Nintendo Switch on July 25. Of course, these dates are subject to any delays this game has experienced.
