Rockstar’s $400 GTA 6 Collector’s Box Doesn’t Include the Game

Rockstar has opened pre-orders on a $399.99 GTA 6 collector’s box. The game is not in it.

The Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is eleven pieces of merchandise built around Macca the Gator, the fictional TV show from Leonida, the game’s version of Florida. Near the foot of the listing, Rockstar puts it plainly: “Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.”

Eleven things, none of them a game

• A Macca the Gator figure, with a twist-open base for stashing things
• Oakley® Frogskins™ sunglasses in matte black, with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo
• A Leonida Keys crossbody bag in ripstop, down to a custom debossed YKK zipper pull
• A New Era® 9FORTY A-Frame snapback
• A Macca the Gator magnetic mirror in electroplated pink glass, which doubles as a tray
• A Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
• A Vice City swizzle spoon
• A razor-blade-shaped keychain
• Nine enamel pins in a metal tin
• Nine vinyl stickers in a stash bag
• A double-sided poster, characters on one side and the full Leonida map on the other

The box measures 19 by 13.5 by 12.5 inches. No disc, no steelbook, no download code — which is where most of the grumbling has landed. Rockstar never suggested otherwise. But $400 collector’s sets have generally come with something playable inside, and this one doesn’t.

The number that matters is $479.98

Because the game is separate, the real figure is higher than the one on the listing.

Standard GTA 6 is $79.99 on the Rockstar Store. Add the box and you are at $479.98. The Ultimate edition is widely reported at $99.99, which would take it to $499.98.

Then shipping, which Rockstar does not price anywhere on the page. The listing says only that the collection “is not eligible for free shipping.”

Pre-ordering the game gets you the Vintage Vice City Pack on either edition, though that is in-game content rather than anything that turns up in a box.

And if you are buying, buy from the store itself. GTA 6’s launch window has already produced fake installers carrying file-destroying malware, and a $400 collectible is exactly what counterfeit listings attach themselves to.

It ships November 19 — or rather, it starts shipping

Rockstar’s FAQ says the collection is “available to ship from November 19, 2026,” the same day the game launches. Read that wording carefully. It is when the shipping window opens, not when a box lands on a doorstep.

On how many exist, the FAQ is just as brief: “Yes, this item is currently only available in limited quantities.” No edition size. No unit count. Nothing beyond that sentence.

One more thing worth knowing before spending. GTA 6 is a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release, and there is still no PC version listed — so a PC player buying this box is buying merchandise for a game they cannot yet play.

The warning label

For a $400 display piece, the safety notice runs long. Choking hazard. Small parts. Sharp points or edges. Rated 18+. “Not a toy,” Rockstar adds. “Fragile.”

That is presumably the razor-blade keychain and the shot glass earning their keep. It is still an odd thing to read beneath a gator figurine holding a martini.
