Grand Theft Auto 6 generates unparalleled anticipation, potentially making it the most highly awaited game in history. Despite Rockstar not making an official announcement even after a decade since GTAV’s launch, leaks, rumours, and speculation have consistently surfaced.
The revelation date remains unknown, but an insider now asserts knowing Rockstar’s planned unveiling, which appears to be much sooner than anticipated.
Recently, a Twitter user named Budzcario disclosed details about a pair of forthcoming projects from Rockstar, including information about GTA 6. According to the user, Rockstar reportedly aims to release GTA 6 in 2024, aligning with what others have previously speculated. Furthermore, the company plans to unveil the game by the end of 2023.
Red Dead Redemption 1 remastered is coming out later this year. It will be officially announced this August for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. RDR 1 remastered will release sometime in October or November.

Budzcario proposed the possibility of Rockstar unveiling the game during The Game Awards 2023, which would be pretty surprising given the company’s history with play reveals.
Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that Rockstar had a significant presence at The Game Awards 2018, with Red Dead Redemption 2 earning several nominations. The revelation of GTA 6 during The Game Awards could create even greater excitement for Rockstar, considering the show’s massive viewership.
We’ve witnessed the remarkable impact of such a strategy with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth during the Summer Game Fest, which Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards, hosts. The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth announcement garnered immense attention from fans.
Given the long development period of GTA 6, the game will need to sell an extraordinary number of copies to recoup the production costs. Therefore, Rockstar might consider collaborating with Keighley for the GTA 6 reveal.
Rockstar is a company that might not require The Game Awards, given the immense success of GTA V with over 180 million copies sold since 2013. Typically, Rockstar doesn’t collaborate with other companies or events for announcements.
According to Budzcario, Rockstar has taken measures to prevent leaks by intentionally providing false information to its developers. A significant GTA 6 leak in September 2022 showcased over 90 gameplay videos.
Still, Budzcario suggests that the footage was from 2020, indicating that the game might be much closer to completion than initially thought. This means the possibility of an imminent reveal.
The gaming industry has evolved considerably since the unveiling of Grand Theft Auto V in 2011. Consequently, Rockstar might approach the announcement of GTA 6 differently.
If the game is set to launch in the fall of 2024, revealing it later this year would be logical, allowing ample time to build up excitement and anticipation.
