Grand Theft Auto 5 will be departing the Xbox Game Pass list on Friday, January 5, as Microsoft has confirmed. Grand Theft Auto 5 was introduced to Xbox Game Pass on July 5, 2023. Thus, players will have had access to it for six months by the time it is taken down.
Throughout its several appearances on Xbox Game Pass, Grand Theft Auto 5 has consistently received different treatment than other Game Pass titles. Grand Theft Auto 5 was unexpectedly added to Xbox Game Pass the last time it was introduced, as there was no confirmation like there is for other Game Pass titles.
Furthermore, every Rockstar game that is introduced to Game Pass usually disappears on days other than the fifteenth and final days of the month, when other games are taken out of the pass.
Since Grand Theft Auto 5 was introduced to the Xbox Game Pass app’s Leaving Soon section last month, subscribers have been aware of the game’s impending departure for some time. Many took that to suggest that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be removed from the service on December 31.

On February 2, Persona 3 Reload will launch as a day one title on Xbox Game Pass, offering a fresh take on the beloved title and lessening the pain of Persona 3 Portable’s withdrawal from Game Pass.
