Some fans have recently theorized that the development of Grand Theft Auto 6 is essentially over and that the developers are merely fixing bugs. With GTA 5’s massive popularity, players are hoping Rockstar will finally announce details about the sequel.
People are eager to find out when they can get their hands on the sixth installment, which has reportedly been in the works for a long time. In case you missed it, the FBI investigated the leak of GTA 6 early build footage online last year and ultimately caught the suspected hacker.
Even though many fans believed the next Grand Theft Auto game wasn’t even close to completion, this was the closest they ever got to see it. As a result, some may worry that it will be extended until the next game in Rockstar’s legendary franchise is available on digital marketplaces.
In contrast, others may believe that the release date is closer than expected. Some fans have been digging into the finer details of Grand Theft Auto 6 and, according to Games Radar, have deduced that the game is nearing completion and that Rockstar is currently fixing bugs and fine-tuning the experience.
This is according to a recent tweet from the account NEWSLEAKSGTAS, which included two screenshots from fans studying tags on pirated media. Tez2, a well-known insider, recently discussed the hardware requirements for running the game at various stages of development, revealing that the “bank release” version seeks to reach “feature full.”

At the same time, the “beta” build focuses more on “content complete.” Some argue that the former denotes “complete UI functioning,” while the latter could indicate that the development team has “finished” the game.
Apparently GTA 6's game is finished, is being polished up and getting prepared for final stages before release. R* is fixing bugs. Also the alpha build was made in 2021, not in 2019. R* was probably likely using it to test. https://t.co/dT1JTJ35xy #GTA6 pic.twitter.com/sFFPtwmedj

The hypothesis is supported by a person who claims to be a programmer and thinks Rockstar may be producing official trailers and “awaiting [the] go signal.” These are, of course, merely rumors and should not be considered evidence that the game is imminent, but the possibility is intriguing.
Since Rockstar games announced GTA6 in February of this year, fans have been scouring every scrap of data they can get their hands on to discover the game’s eventual release date.
Numerous hints have been dropped for GTA 6, with Rockstar rolling the official credits for Grand Theft Auto 5 on the game’s website and publishing a Christmas greeting that fans were eager to probe and analyze.
Fans can only speculate and go as deeply into the available information until the studio makes a formal announcement. At the very least, it’ll keep you occupied. GTA6 is currently in the works.
