A recent leak from Genshin Impact has unveiled a trio of upcoming characters that are set to join the RPG in the future. These characters were previously rumoured, and with the introduction of the newest playable region, HoYoverse RPG, just a few weeks away, fans have already been treated to teasers of various new roster members.
A recent Fontaine trailer showcased several rumoured characters like Lyney, Lynette, Arlecchino, and others. The leaks now suggest that a group of highly-requested Liyue characters is also on the horizon.
While most recent leaks for Genshin Impact have focused on revealing details about the Fontaine region, there have also been strong rumours about new characters coming to the other areas.
For instance, there are claims that Grand Master Varka of Mondstadt’s Knights of Favonius may finally make his long-awaited debut, especially considering his significant references in the first region’s story.
Moreover, each game’s past area is rumoured to receive new characters, including a mummy girl from Sumeru. Fresh leaks indicate the imminent arrival of three new Adeptus characters from Liyue.
According to a recent update from the well-known Genshin Impact leaker Tao, shared through Uncle A, exciting news has emerged that Cloud Retainer, Madame Ping, and Guizhong will soon join the playable character roster.
While rumours about these three Adepti becoming playable had circulated, this latest update solidly confirms their forthcoming introduction in the game.
Both Cloud Retainer and Madame Ping play significant roles in the Liyue region’s storyline, and Guizhong has been extensively referenced throughout various events and the game’s main plot. As for the exact release dates of these characters, the update did not provide any specific information.
Including Liyue’s latest characters in Genshin Impact has been a topic of speculation among fans, particularly regarding Cloud Retainer, who is rumoured to become a playable character in the game.
During Genshin Impact’s Version 3.4, players were given a glimpse of Cloud Retainer’s human form through the “Exquisite Night Chimes” event, where she played a significant role in the annual Lantern Rite event.
Another character, Madame Ping, is also rumoured to appear in a younger form, despite fans already familiar with her as the old Adeptus who rewards players with the Serenitea Pot. If Guizhong makes her debut, it will be her first appearance in the game beyond animated cutscenes.
The speculation surrounding upcoming additions to Genshin Impact’s character roster suggests that the game will grow significantly in the upcoming patches. Version 4.0 has already been confirmed to introduce three new playable characters from the Fontaine region: Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet.
