The release date for Genshin Impact 4.4 is coming, and the update will feature new characters Xianyun and Gaming.
Genshin Impact version 4.4 is planned to be released on Wednesday, January 31, but due to timezone gaps in Chinese developer Hoyoverse’s maintenance schedule, it will arrive the night of Tuesday, January 30. The official launch time is 7 p.m. PT, 10 p.m. ET, and 3 a.m. GMT (January 31), however, fresh versions frequently arrive up to 30 minutes before.
The stars of version 4.4 are the new five-star character Xianyun and the four-star character Gaming (pronounced Gah-ming), who will appear in the first part of the update. Xianyun will feature with a replay of the Dendro Archon Nahida, whose four stars are Gaming, Faruzan, and Noel.
Xianyun is a new Anemo healer with a distinct elemental burst that allows anybody in your party to jump high enough to conduct diving attacks. She also increases plunge attack damage and heals your entire team, allowing for thrilling combos with characters like Xiao (the prime plunge attacker), Furina (who prefers team-wide healers), Diluc (who has a well-known high plunge attack value), and many others.
Her Anemo type also allows her to use the Viridescent Venerer artifact set, which buffs any Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo damage dealers. Gaming, on the other hand, is a Pyro DPS character with unique plunge attacks that are linked to his skill and burst, making him an ideal match for Xianyun.

Note that Gaming will be one of the characters available in the free four-star invite included with the Lantern Rite event in version 4.4, so if you don’t desire any of the other characters, you’ll be able to get him even if you don’t get him while rolling for Xianyun or Nahida.
The second part of the update will have replays of Xiao, who is an excellent fit for Xianyun teams, and Yae Miko, who works well with Nahida for off-field Quicken damage.
Hoyoverse said today that update 4.5 will include new Geo character Chiori, who is expected to be a five-star unit based on her role in Fontaine’s tale and the fact that no other new characters will appear in the game’s next version.
