Bungie’s recent blog post details many forthcoming balancing tweaks for numerous Destiny 2 weapons, abilities, and exotics, such as the Titan’s Citan’s Ramparts exotic armor. Adding new material, resolving bugs, and attempting to keep things balanced is all part of the routine for live service games’ development teams.
Bungie implements significant modifications every season and before expansions, and Destiny 2 is no exception. Bungie has started to be more forthcoming about the changes coming to Destiny 2 gamers as Lightfall approaches in a matter of weeks.
A build crafting system with up to ten loadouts that players may shift between appears to be on the horizon for this year’s expansion. In contrast, after reaching the game’s soft level threshold, players can trade in their Blue Engrams and gear for glimmer, which will be the game’s most noticeable change for long-term players.
Unfortunately, the news of yet another impending shift appears to have polarized opinions. The latest Bungie Destiny 2 (Iron Banner) blog discussed the planned balance tweaks to weapons, armor, and abilities and all the new content and updates.
Given its prevalence in PvP, Citan’s Ramparts was singled out in the blog and given a significant power reduction. After some back-and-forth, the cooldown for the Barricade was extended by 70%, and the damage it takes from enemies was increased by 25% so that other players would have more opportunities to engage in counterplay.

The base cooldown lengths of specific class abilities, such as the Titan’s Barricade and Thruster, and both Hunter dodges, have been increased by 20% by Bungie. New to Arc 3.0 is a feature called Touch of Thunder, which significantly improves the effectiveness of Storm Grenades.

Second, lightning strike damage was lowered by 25%, along with its tracking speed and distance. Since Storm Grenades have recently become the go-to grenade for Arc players in PvP games, the improvements are meant to make them easier to avoid.
Buildcrafting is evolving when Lightfall launches on February 28.

Many players have disapproved of the modifications because the ability cooldowns hurt PvE and the planned PvP modes. However, it’s not all bad news for Crucible players, as players still hope Bungie will separate PvP and PvE updates.
In addition to announcing a new skill-based matchmaking system, Bungie has confirmed the return of Rumble as an endless mode. The Airborne Effectiveness and the Adaptive Submachine Guns are getting some much-needed upgrades. Destiny 2 may be purchased now for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox One X/S.
