Best Upcoming PS5 Games: It came as a huge shock when Telltale Games suddenly closed its doors in 2018. Due to widespread layoffs and financial difficulties, the studio closed until LCG Entertainment brought it back to life (per Polygon). The Telltale team is returning, despite the departure of many original members.
The firm plans to make good on its return to form with a sequel to “The Wolf Among Us,” its critically acclaimed adaptation of Bill Willingham’s “Fables,” which mashes up fairy tales with noir.
The first two trailers for “The Wolf Among Us 2” have aroused a fair amount of anticipation. Both trailers emphasize Bigby Wolf’s return as the game’s protagonist but emphasize the significant visual changes that will be made to the game. It was announced by Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie that Unreal Engine would be used to create the game instead of Telltale’s proprietary game engine (via IGN). The fundamental framework of the game will remain unchanged.
Like its prequel, the sequel will be released in episodes. There should be no large gaps between chapters, as Ottilie has stated that all episodes would complete development at the same time. With the resurrection of both Telltale and “The Wolf Among Us,” fans have much to look forward to.

Cyberfunk Bombardment
The Dreamcast era was Sega’s zenith. Games like “Sonic Adventure” and “Crazy Taxi” were instant classics on the final Sega console, but “Jet Set Radio” stood out for its unique visual presentation. It shined brightest as an arcade game that featured a focus on high-octane roller skating and graffiti art. Replicating the success of such a game is challenging, but “Bomb Rush Cyberpunk” appears to be up to the task.
The unique gameplay, colorful visuals, and energetic soundtrack of “Jet Set Radio” made it an unforgettable experience. An early trailer for “Cyberpunk” showed a character roller skating through the city, followed by a QuickTime event showing the same character spray painting a wall.
This may be mistaken for a sequel to “Jet Set Radio” by those who remember the Dreamcast era. Also, the game has a similar cel-shaded aesthetic. The actual selling point, though, is that “Lethal League Blaze” composer Hideki Naganuma is back for the new game. While out and about, you may expect to hear a lot of relaxing melodies.
Bomb Rush Cyberpunk has all the makings of a fantastic game that might fascinate both die-hard fans of “Jet Set Radio” and newbies.
Stark Sword
Stellar Blade is a forthcoming action game for the PlayStation platform that made its debut during a PS Showcase in 2021. The game was initially referred to as “Project Eve,” after the name of its female protagonist. PlayStation. The blog claims that Eve’s mission is to defeat parasitic evil that has infected humanity and is now aiming to destroy the final metropolis on Earth.
In “Stellar Blade,” Eve wears futuristic armor and wields a sword as she battles creatures that appear like they were taken straight out of “Bloodborne.” Players will be able to backstab, parry, and pull off some powerful combos. The trailer also briefly displays third-person shooting, so “Stellar Blade” seems to have it all.
The PlayStation.A blog post by game director Kim Hyung Tae provided some additional information on fighting, including the fact that both defensive and aggressive strategies are supported. They disclosed in another blog post that the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback would vary with the equipped weapon. In conclusion, “Stellar Blade” appears to be a strong action-adventure that will make effective use of the PlayStation 5’s technology and capabilities.

Alan Wake 2
Success with “Control” prompted Remedy Entertainment to revisit one of their fan favorites. Similar to the classics “Twin Peaks” and “Psycho,” the original “Alan Wake” merged third-person action with horror and sci-fi elements. In light of its enduring legacy as a member of the Remedy Connected Universe, “Alan Wake” stands out as one of the studio’s most enduring and iconic works.
After opening with wide vistas of a metropolis and town, the trailer zeroes in on the movie’s protagonist—the title character—and cuts swiftly to his bloodied face. Even though it reveals absolutely little to viewers, the trailer is drenched in the mood. All of this points toward a terrifying horror-themed sequel.
The original Alan Wake had some scary moments, but it also had a lot of exciting fight scenes.
According to Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy Entertainment, “Alan Wake 2” will be “Remedy’s first ever survival horror game,” as he told Geoff Keighly. This means that fans of the genre and of Remedy should expect an experience that surpasses their expectations.
Ghost Of The Assassin’s Creed
There was a time when “Assassin’s Creed” followed a more traditional formula, focusing mostly on action and stealth. However, with the release of “Origins,” “Odyssey,” and “Valhalla,” the franchise has shifted focus to epic-scale adventures.
The massive worlds, lengthy play times, and RPG mechanics of these games have earned them a bad reputation. But “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” has the potential to bring back the tried and true. Although “Mirage” is simply one of several upcoming “Assassin’s Creed” projects, it holds the most promise for longtime players of the series.
The game’s theatrical trailer features an Arabian backdrop and more of the series’ signature features. A lot of the gameplay harkens back to the early Ezio adventures, with an emphasis on hidden blade kills, parkour, and sword warfare. Ubisoft’s trailer for “Mirage” essentially proved what many had thought all along, as earlier reports and leaks had highlighted the removal of RPG aspects, the game’s setting in Baghdad, and a return to the series’s roots.
It seems like a case where “less is more.” For historical drama and intrigue, nothing beats the narrative and stealthy warfare of the original “Assassin’s Creed” games. A new game expanding on what made the franchise great is an appealing possibility because “Assassin’s Creed 2” is still the most critically lauded entry in the series.
Assassinate The Justice League!
Despite these issues, “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” is likely to be met with cautious optimism. First, Rocksteady hasn’t created a game since 2015, and now its two original founders are quitting the studio. But a multiplayer game where the Suicide Squad battles DC’s greatest heroes from the creators of the “Batman: Arkham” series sounds pretty incredible. Delays in releasing “Suicide Squad” have been disappointing news. But so far, the gameplay and trailers have looked great.
Each character has its own style of play, and the high-octane gameplay teaser highlights King Shark, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot. While King Shark swiftly scales buildings, Harley swings with a Hookshot. Deadshot arrives in style on his jetpack, and Captain Boomerang can breeze through any level.
Each fighter employs a unique arsenal of attacks and ranged weapons in battle.
Even if beloved characters like Peacemaker and Polka Dot Man have yet to make an appearance, there are likely still more surprises in store for viewers. Considering that the Justice League is the primary antagonist group, the plot twists just keep coming.
Say It Like A Dragon: “Ishin!”
While it was an early entry for the PS4 platform in 2014, the samurai-themed “Like A Dragon: Ishin!” was only available in Japan. Characters from the “Yakuza”/”Like A Dragon” series are recast as historical individuals in this prequel inspired by events from the Edo period of Japan (around 1800).
The absurd premise succeeds in attracting viewers because of the absurdity and exaggeration of “Yakuza,” and “Ishin!” will differentiate itself further through its renewed focus on sword battle.
Gameplay footage shows some spectacular dodging and strong sword slashing, and a PlayStation is in view. This article discusses four distinct fighting styles, including Swordsman, Gunman, Wild Dancer, and Brawler. Just in the teaser trailer, we see a tiger spring into action and bullets be chopped in half. An uptick in tension is to be expected.
The original 2014 release should not be confused with this newer version. The “astounding graphics quality” made possible by Unreal Engine is highlighted in the aforementioned blog article. Given the developer’s track record with remakes, “Ishin!” is guaranteed to be excellent.
Rebirth: Final Fantasy VII
After the critical and commercial success of “Final Fantasy 7 Remake,” fans were left eagerly awaiting the sequel. Rebirth is expected to be significantly more expansive than the original because the first film only adapted a small portion of the source material. Furthermore, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” like a couple of the other titles included, is PS5-only.
Though Square Enix has been rather silent, we do have some information. Gamers were informed about the “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s” Winter 2023 release date through the trailer. Given that the release of “Final Fantasy 16” is also scheduled for that year, this news came as a big surprise. Purists should expect to have their needs met in the following year’s installments.
Cloud and Sephiroth can be seen walking side by side in a gameplay clip featured in the same video. Aside from the visual brilliance of the settings, there isn’t much to discuss. To find out how “Rebirth” deviates from the plot of the original game, fans will just have to wait. There will be no cut scenes, according to Tetsuya Nomura and crew, but the player’s exploration of the world will take place in a different order (per MP1ST).
History Of Hogwarts
It was previously rumored that “Hogwarts Legacy” would be a massive role-playing game (RPG) set in the “Harry Potter” universe, a significant improvement over earlier adaptations. This leaked clip does the game a disservice. The leaks occurred in 2018, and they indirectly lead to the ongoing unhappiness caused by the game’s delays.
However, the official trailers and a solid demonstration of gameplay have piqued fans’ interest. There have been 30 million views of just the reveal trailer.
As indicated before, the devs kicked off their gaming demonstration by showing off the extensive character creator. Players can customize their perfect Hogwarts student by selecting from a wide variety of hairstyles and glasses. And the topic of spells in “Harry Potter” cannot be avoided. The creators have promised “over 20 slottable spells” for use in-game.

The player’s protagonist is a fifth-year student at Hogwarts who has fallen behind their peers and must now play catch-up.
As a result, they’ve designed a “Field Guide” full of missions and tasks that will earn you experience and unlock new skills.
Players that purchase the PS5 version of “Hogwarts Legacy” will get access to PS5-exclusive features like a special dungeon and shop.
Combatant: Sixth Street
In 2023, some series will get complete reboots, but “Street Fighter 6” will likely be the most anticipated sequel. It would appear that Capcom is making some welcome adjustments to the “Street Fighter” franchise. With its revamped cast, streamlined online play, innovative gameplay, and open-world story mode, “Street Fighter V” have the potential to be the series’ best entry in recent years.
One of the largest leaks in gaming history affected “Street Fighter 6” in 2022. A complete lineup for the next game was discovered online, revealing the presence of both familiar and unfamiliar faces. Although leaks are never welcome, this one has generated some excitement.
The heroes of “Street Fighter 2″‘s opening lineup will be playable right away. Soon after, a thrilling trailer was released, which featured fan favorites including Ken, Dhalsim, Blanka, and E. Honda.
In addition to the game’s story mode, which allows players to discover Metro City and hone their abilities, the game also includes various more fascinating systems and mechanics. The parry is the first line of defense against a combination from an enemy. It’s also possible to use a drive hit to send the opponent ricocheting off the wall. Players will have a great time exploring everything “Street Fighter 6” has to offer.
Resident 4 Evil!
The PS1 game was completely revamped for the remake of “Resident Evil 2,” which captivated both new and old fans. But what would happen if a game was remade even though it didn’t need to be? Recreating one of the most significant games of all time, “Resident Evil 4“, which revolutionized the third-person shooter genre, is a massive undertaking. The remake of “Resident Evil 4” has a lot riding on it, and fans and critics are of the same mind that it must succeed where the original failed.
Despite the odds, Capcom has released a plethora of details that have generally assuaged fans’ concerns. Capcom showed off a new take on the game’s notorious village confrontation during a demonstration of the series. It’s a stunning scenario that manages to maintain the frenetic pace of the original while adding some welcome (if horrific) twists.
One new addition to the gameplay is that Leon can now use his knife to parry massive chainsaws (among other weapons). The ability to crouch and the increased mobility while shooting is also noteworthy improvements for Leon. It will be fascinating to see how the remake and the original vary in terms of combat encounters and overall gameplay, but this remake looks to be another success for Capcom’s zombie brand.

Final Fantasy 16
The “Final Fantasy” series is experiencing a golden age right now. The success of “Final Fantasy 14″ shows no signs of slowing down, and the release of “FF7 Remake 2” can’t come soon enough. “Final Fantasy 16,” developed by the same studio as “FF14,” will be a departure from previous entries in the series.
Even though there’s a lot to dissect, one of the most talked-about aspects of “Final Fantasy 16” is the elimination of some sort of battle. This “Final Fantasy” is aiming for a new audience, hence it has abandoned turn-based combat in favor of more action-oriented gameplay. Naoki Yoshida, the game’s producer, has stated that he has fond memories of turn-based games from his youth but observes that gamers today are less interested in this style of gameplay.
PlayStation 5 owners will want to get their hands on “Final Fantasy 16” because it is exclusive to that system and will be unlike any previous entry in the long-running series. Despite the PS4’s limitations, “Final Fantasy 16” is paving the way for the next generation of Japanese role-playing video games.
Spider-Man 2 (Marvel)
In 2023, keep an eye out for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.” There are two playable Spider-Men, and the villain Venom, in this game. After the success of the first “Spider-Man” and “Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” it’s logical to assume that “Spider-Man 2” will also be a smashing success. The newest installment in the classic superhero franchise is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 system.
Perhaps most significantly, Insomniac has silenced the talk of a possible release date slip. The crew at Insomniac has recently tweeted that they are “making good progress and [“Spider-Man 2″] is still targeted for 2023.” It’s fantastic to know that everything is on track, but it’s disappointing that we still don’t know when players will see actual gameplay or hear from Insomniac again about the project.
Even though this is simply a teaser, there is a lot to analyze in “Spider-Man 2.” Some players were hoping for cooperative multiplayer after seeing Spider-Man and Miles battle side by side. An immediate clarification from a PlayStation Blog article described the sequel as an “epic single-player adventure.”
However, the prospect of utilizing both Miles and Peter in combat against fresh foes are sure to pique players’ interest. Considering Insomniac’s impressive history, the 2023 release of a sequel to one of the studio’s finest games is extremely exciting.
