The year 2023 has truly blessed us with some incredible video games, such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, the Resident Evil 4 remake, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and many more.
Another title that has taken the video gaming industry by storm is Larian Studios’ D&D-inspired RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, which will compete with Alan Wake II for the title of the Year at The Gaming Awards 2023 next month.
One of the advantages of subscribing to PlayStation Plus, at least the Premium tier, is the ability to sample games. These trials, which are essentially fancy playable demos, can last anywhere from an hour to five hours. During that time, you can earn trophies, and your progress will be saved if you opt to buy the entire Game.
Two of the most anticipated RPGs of 2023 have recently joined the PlayStation Plus Premium trials, one of which is the Baldur above’s Gate 3.
The other is Daedalic Entertainment’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Both games are of varying quality, with one being a contender for Game of the Year and the other being the worst Game of the Year contender.
So, if you want to see what all the hype is about with Larian Studios’ blockbuster RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, you may play it for free (within the price of your subscription) thanks to its two-hour PS Plus trial.
If you want to punish yourself for any reason, you can play The Lord of the Rings: Gollum for an hour. Morbid curiosity motivates me to participate in the Gollum trial. I suppose I despise myself.
It’s fantastic to have Baldur’s Gate 3 available as a trial because the constant acclaim and praise would be enough to entice many gamers to pick up this RPG. In terms of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, I’d be surprised if the hour-long demo resulted in any purchases unless you wanted to send a gift to your worst enemy.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available on PC and PlayStation 5, with an Xbox Series X|S release planned next month. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
