Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Is Coming To Steam On December 6th! The three games Anno 1800, Roller Champions, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that Ubisoft is releasing on Steam may be its first significant releases on Valve’s PC distribution platform since 2019.
According to a statement provided to The Verge by Ubisoft spokesperson Jessica Roache, “We’re continuously reviewing how to offer our games to various audiences wherever they are while providing a consistent player ecology through Ubisoft Connect.”
Roache declined to comment on whether this implies Ubisoft will now consistently release titles on Steam or if it will just happen sometimes. It’s unclear why Ubisoft stopped offering its PC games on Steam or why it’s doing so again, but it seems to be continuing where it left off: Valhalla was the series’ flagship game in 2020, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage wouldn’t be out until 2023.
In May, Roller Champions was released. And the 2019 game Anno 1800 is returning on Steam after earlier being taken down. It’s not a secret, though, that Ubisoft removed games from Steam to make them exclusive to the Epic Games Store, which is known for paying game publishers millions of dollars to lure their titles to that competing platform.
As an illustration, Anno 1800’s Steam shop page still states, “Notice: Sales of Anno 1800 will be terminated on Steam after April 16th due to a publisher’s decision to make the game exclusive to another PC retailer.” You may also check Nintendo Switch Online Update Could Interest Gamecube Players

Documents from the Epic Games v. Apple trial demonstrate that Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion was targeted as a must-have EGS exclusive at the time it was spending that type of money. Epic paid $146 million to make 2K Games’ Borderlands 3 exclusive to that platform.
Large Ubisoft games frequently appear on lists of Epic Games Store exclusives. Despite a brief scare in July when players noticed a poorly written message about how their titles would “not be accessible,” Roache insists that Ubisoft “never stopped our relationship with Valve.”

Ubisoft indeed continued to release some DLC after its main games largely stopped appearing on Steam as well as letting gamers play Steam titles they already own. At the same time, Ubisoft also took additional titles off of Steam, including Space Junkies, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD, Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic, Anno 2070, and more—all of which, except Space Junkies, now seem to be on sale.
Since Space Junkies was a multiplayer-only game, Roache claims that some of these games were temporarily taken down when their online multiplayer services were being shut down. According to Ubisoft, there are no updates on whether the company will collaborate with Valve to authenticate these games for the Steam Deck.
