Apex Legends, a famous battle royale game, will launch for the Nintendo Switch next month. Electronic Arts have released a Titanfall spinoff called Apex Legends for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Later in 2018, the business revealed that the game would be available for the Nintendo Switch. Nonetheless, the company said in a blog post that, after several setbacks, a release date had been set.
“Today, I’m proud to come to you with some good news. Apex Legends were coming to Nintendo Switch on March 9, 2021,” said Chad Grenier, Game Director at Apex Legends. The Nintendo Switch has a low-resolution screen (720p) compared to other systems. Therefore, EA calls the port a “major achievement.”
The game developer has worked with Panic Button for the Switch port and says that players can expect a full-featured Apex Legends experience. EA has successfully ported Apex Legends to the Switch, and the best part is that it will feature cross-platform play! This allows gamers from different systems to compete against one another.
A few days ago, a new season of Apex Legends was released, introducing a new legend and character named Fuse. King’s Canyon returns for the new season with a fresh look, a new weapon, and a slew of new skins and cosmetic upgrades. It was anticipated that the Nintendo Switch port would launch on the same day as Season 4.
But the delay means players will have to sit tight for another month. Due to the uncertainty, we will be giving Switch users 30 free levels for their Season 8 Battle Pass, and for the first two weeks after release, Switch players will earn double XP.
However, EA has not said whether or not the game will continue to be accessible on the new platforms. According to recent information leaked from Amazon Japan, the Champion Edition of the game is rumoured to cost roughly 5,641 ($54). There have been sightings of a Switch Pro controller with an Apex Legends skin, which should get people pumped for the game’s Switch release.
EA is collaborating with a Chinese studio on a mobile version of the hit battle royale game Apex Legends for Android and iOS. While we have no idea when the game will be released, we were told not to expect it on mobile devices before 2022.
