Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, the sequel to Coin Crew Games’ co-op escape-room puzzler, comes to PlayStation 5 on November 5, 2026, the studio said on the PlayStation Blog. Its Steam page lists the same date for PC.

From a linear story to an open campus

The biggest change from the first game is structure. Coin Crew says the sequel moves from a more linear story to an open-world campus, split into distinct sections with quests, characters and secrets to find between escape rooms. Couch and online co-op are available from the start, across the whole campus, story and puzzles.

The studio shared details on two areas:

  • The Headmaster’s Tower: One of the first spaces the team designed for the sequel’s updated visuals, leading back to the Headmaster’s Office, where the first game’s very first escape took place.
  • The Humanities Campus: An expanded area that returns after a character burned down the library in the first game. It is the part of the campus that changed most from the first game’s 2D map layout, the studio says.

The studio says the game is open to new players as well as people who played the original.

Who is making it

Coin Crew Games is developing the sequel, and iam8bit Presents is publishing it, according to the Steam listing. A demo is available on Steam. The Steam page does not list a price yet, and Coin Crew’s announcement did not give one for PlayStation 5.
