Xbox Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming, offering access to hundreds of games for a monthly fee. However, not everyone needs or wants such a large library of games, especially if they only play online multiplayer or a few select titles.
That’s why Microsoft has announced Xbox Game Pass Core, a new subscription service that will replace Xbox Live Gold and Games with Gold. Xbox Game Pass Core, set to launch on September 14, 2023, is a new subscription service that will cost $10 per month or $60 per year.
It will offer access to a curated collection of over 25 games for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. These games will include some of the best titles from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, and other partners, such as:
- Among Us
- Descenders
- Dishonored 2
- DOOM Eternal
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Forza Horizon 4
- Gears 5
- Grounded
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
- Human Fall Flat
- INSIDE
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps
- Psychonauts 2
- State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

In addition to these games, Xbox Game Pass Core subscribers will enjoy the benefits of online console multiplayer, member deals and discounts of up to 50% off select games, and free play days for select games. They will also be able to keep any games they redeemed in the past through Games with Gold as long as they are current Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate members.

Xbox Game Pass Core is part of Microsoft’s vision to make gaming more accessible and inclusive for everyone. It joins the other tiers of Xbox Game Pass: Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Game Pass for Console, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. With these options, players can choose the best way to play on their preferred device and enjoy a diverse and constantly updated library of games.
