Cambridge, UK – November 14, 2023, Frontier Developments plc’s real-time strategy game Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is now available for players who pre-order the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X|S before the full release on November 17th.

Realms of Ruin is the first RTS game set in Games Workshop’s expansive Age of Sigmar universe, with four distinct factions, a cinematic singleplayer campaign mode, 1v1 and 2v2 multiplayer, Conquest Mode for repeatable solo play, extensive unit customization, the ability to create amazing dioramas, and a powerful Map Editor tool.

The Standard Edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is priced at £49.99/$59.99/€59.99. The Deluxe Edition costs £59.99/$69.99/€69.99, and the Ultimate Edition costs £64.99/$74.99/€74.99. Along with the original game, the Ultimate Edition includes four Alternate Hero Skins (one for each faction), two Profile Customisation Sets, and access to two Hero DLCs that will be released after launch.

The first Hero DLC introduces the Stormcast Eternals hero, Yndrasta, The Celestial Spear. In contrast, the second introduces Orruk Kruleboyz’s aerial Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork, to the battlefields of Ghur, the Realm of Beasts. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition includes the base game, four alternate hero skins, and two Profile Customisation Sets.

Players lead one of four factions in tense and tactical conflicts in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. The powerful Stormcast Eternals bring a diverse squad selection to the field, as well as heroes who provide essential benefits and enemy crowd control.

The crafty Orruk Kruleboyz entered the conflict with inexpensive soldiers, surprise attacks, powerful defensive squads, and ferocious monsters. The ethereal Nighthaunt thrives on swarm tactics, has excellent mobility, and can even resurrect dead soldiers to fight another day.

Finally, the Disciples of Tzeentch, masters of manipulation, are lethal at range, employing powerful spells to dominate the battle and bringing the shockingly mighty Lord of Change to control the late game. Understanding their varied strengths and limitations, as well as how they interact, is an essential element of the Realms of Ruin quest.

Players will enjoy a complex, character-driven story of desperate conflict in the single-player campaign, co-written by famed Black Library novelist Gav Thorpe. The movement opens with a detachment of Stormcast Eternals embarking on an expedition to collect a powerful artifact that may help save their fortress town, Harkanibus.

But not everything is as it appears: the artifact has its own dark and terrible past, and the approaching local Orruk Kruleboyz is also after this occult power. Each campaign mission is richly integrated with storytelling, and the single-player narrative culminates in an epic struggle to save Harkanibus.

Commanders will struggle for Victory Point dominance with their faction of choice in Realms of Ruin’s 1v1 and 2v2 cross-platform multiplayer, clashing with human players online or AI opponents. In Conquest Mode, players will engage in single-player combat across a more expansive terrain, battling with unexpected twists such as enhanced movement speed, decreased team visibility, and population cap limits.

Realms of Ruin contains extremely detailed customizing features that allow for a personalized gaming experience. The Map Editor will enable you to design multiplayer maps with a variety of granular choices like biome selection, terrain and water painting, and gameplay objective placement.

Maps can be shared with the community via a cross-platform in-game Workshop, where they can download, play, and rate maps on any platform.

Combatants from all four sides can also be customized using colors from the official Citadel paint collection in the Army Livery tool. Players can design and store palettes for entire factions or individual units, which they can later utilize in multiplayer or Conquest Mode.

They’ll also be able to use the Map Editor to construct stunning dioramas, posing figures in curated photos to share with the community.
