While Tomb Raider and Amazon have been a popular pairing recently, streaming rival Netflix has just released the latest Tomb Raider game. The new trailer for Tomb Raider Reloaded, a top-down dungeon crawler available for iOS and Android devices (and released in time for Lara Croft’s birthday), has arrived.
Reloaded is a much more cartoonish explanation of Lara Croft and her adventures than previous Tomb Raider games. The player directs Croft through a series of dungeons with hazards and enemies to gain experience and loot. Like all other games on Netflix, Tomb Raider Reloaded reportedly has no ads or in-app purchases and is completely free for subscribers.

Lara Croft will be voiced by Shelley Blond, Judith Gibbins, Jonell Elliott, and Keeley Hawes, despite the game having little to do with previous Tomb Raider installments. Voiced initially by Blond, Lara was played by Gibbins in future installments.

Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and The Angel of Darkness isn’t the first time Elliot has played the British archaeologist. Hawes was Lara in Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary, Underworld, and its two spin-offs Lara Croft: Guardian of the Light and Temple of Osiris. The player can pick their favorite voice actor from among the four options.
In December 2020, Emerald City Games and CDE Entertainment held a soft launch for Tomb Raider Reloaded in select Asian countries. According to the developer, Crystal Dynamics, responsible for many previous Tomb Raider games, had no official role in the game’s production but did assist with certain elements.
In addition, despite the agreements above with Amazon, Netflix and Tomb Raider have previously collaborated, as shown by the upcoming anime.
