A single, serialized, one-of-a-kind Magic: The Gathering card called “The One Ring” has been discovered. The grading business PSA, which published a picture of the card on Friday morning, provides evidence.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the bearer desires to stay unknown, but other resellers have already made millions of dollars in offers to purchase it.
The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth, the newest deck of cards from Magic, was produced in collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises (MEE) in honor of J.R.R. Tolkien’s original works.
The One Ring is included in the set in numerous copies, some perforated and designed to be pulled apart at the table. However, the book’s publisher Wizards of the Coast also made an individual copy embossed with the original Elvish Black Speech inscription and wrapped in gold foil.
The One Ring was rumored to be in Collector Boosters, pricey packs with 15 cards each, when Tales of Middle-earth hit retail stores on June 23. Collector Booster Boxes cost more than $518 due to the promotion, more than double what such products usually cost at launch.
Wizards of the Coast claimed to Polygon, “The One Ring in Tales of Middle-Earth reflects the ring’s unique role within The Lord of the Rings.” “Our team, along with our partners at Middle-earth Enterprises are thrilled to hear tale of a new Ring-bearer in possession of the unique serialized 1:1 The One Ring card and brought this part of the One Ring’s adventure to a close.”

A reseller in Spain is giving the bearer of The One Ring more than $2 million in exchange for the card and a trip to Europe, should they decide to take it. A New York-based reseller named Dave & Adam’s apparently received the card on Friday, but it cannot pay a larger reward than the $1 million it had first offered.
