Fans are now awaiting word on the release date of Starfield, but a secret piece disclosed in a quick glance at the Starfield characteristics screen has indicated the return of a very scary enemy.

The Elder Scrolls

There have been lots of annoying characters in games like Skyrim and Fallout, but none of them can compare to the face of the devoted fan from the classic role-playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. He smiles nonstop and does so in a way that is both creepy and annoying.

The adoring fan is a follower from Oblivion who follows you on your travels once you become the grand champion of the Cyrodiil arena. For those of you who have the good fortune to not have his smirking face seared into your brain for all eternity, the adoring fan is a character from the game.

He is a jovial Bosmer with a torch and a rather spectacular mound of bright yellow hair who boasts no use in combat but instead follows the player around incessantly, praising the very ground that they walk on at every possible opportunity. He is characterized by a broad smile and an upbeat demeanor. He also has a rather spectacular mound of bright yellow hair. Even death is not enough to stop him from returning a few days later, so we shouldn’t hold our breath.

As was disclosed in the most recent interview with Todd Howard titled “Constellation Questions,” one of the many traits that can be chosen when creating a character in Starfield is “Hero Worshipped.” This trait states that “You’ve earned the attention of an annoying “Adoring Fan” who will show up randomly and jabber at you incessantly.”

In order to be fair to the person who is assumed to be new, at least they can offer you presents. The devoted follower of Oblivion will not provide you with anything other than clichés, a tiny bit of light, and a nice smile. Oh my goodness, the grin… Please, just stop smiling all the time.

Personally, we are not certain if we will be able to deal with the concept of having an unrelenting obsessive following us about on each of the one thousand planets that make up Starfield. But if the thought of having a good time doing that appeals to you, then it seems that good fortune will smile upon you.

While you wait for more information about Starfield to become available, you should take the time to familiarize yourself with the specifics of all of the Starfield cities that have been described, all of the Starfield weapons that have been demonstrated, and all of the other Starfield companions that will accompany you on your journey, hopefully in a manner that is somewhat less annoying.
