Bandai Namco Apologizes After a Tekken 8 Character Leak
Bandai Namco has expressed regret for a video that unintentionally teased a new character coming to Tekken 8. Since the combat sequel’s announcement, the developer/publisher has been cautiously and consistently announcing new cast members.
However, it appears that a gameplay clip featuring Bryan Fury mistakenly went online over the weekend. Despite the publisher’s rapid action to remove the video, it was too late; the fresh revelation had been posted and widely disseminated online.
Producer Michael Murray tweeted earlier today: “I apologize to the fans who saw that particular thing in not the way [director Katsuhiro Harada] and I had wanted it to happen. I feel bad for all you guys and also the dev team who gave up weekends to work on it.”

However, Harada’s tweet lacked some poise. Although it was also removed afterward, the tweet was quickly screenshotted and circulated online.
“What the xxxx Bandai Namco Euro,” the director tweeted. “That’s why I warned you years ago not to post on a timer. “Well, I’m going home now thanks! Hahaha.”
The director of Tekken 8 recently verified a ton of brand-new gameplay information, including cross-play, rollback netcode, and character numbers.
Katsuhiro Harada, the game’s creative director, responded to fans’ inquisitive queries regarding Tekken 8, confirming that the game will support cross-play, a feature he’s been pushing for since Tekken 7’s debut but hasn’t been able to implement.

Recently, Harada also made a comparison between the new fighting game sequel and Dark Souls. Tekken 8 feels like a logical extension of the franchise in the same way that players of Dark Souls feel like they want to improve and get better, he said, denying the idea that fighting games are complex and convoluted, adding that “people who keep dying over and over are having fun with the game.”
There is no official release date for Tekken 8. However, it will be accessible on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
