A fresh leak linked to State of Decay 3 has potentially revealed the release date for Xbox’s future survival game – and it’s much later than many fans probably expected. Xbox stated in 2020 that developer Undead Labs was working on State of Decay 3.
This announcement was made in the form of a CG teaser, hence no gameplay footage was displayed. Since this announcement, Xbox and Undead Labs have announced nothing new about the State of Decay 3, raising a variety of doubts from fans about the project’s status. Now, an explanation for the silence appears to have emerged, and it is because SoD3 may still be years away.
State Of Decay 3 Release Date
According to Nora Shramek’s Art Station profile, who is the lighting lead at Undead Labs on State of Decay 3, the game is set to be released in 2027. If this is correct, there will be a nine-year gap between State of Decay 2 and State of Decay 3, which is extremely long.
It also implies that Xbox would have revealed the State of Decay 3 seven years before its release. Normally, games aren’t revealed this far ahead, but SoD3 could have only recently begun pre-production when it was shown off in 2020.
