“We’re working on an update for those features, but they won’t be in Day 1,” he responded to a Twitter question, later adding, “Should be before the end of the year.”

The post-launch update was mentioned in pre-release review materials for Spider-Man 2, and James Stevenson, Insomniac Games‘ director of marketing, promised fans on social media that the new game plus mode would be available before the end of 2023.
Beating the PlayStation 5 exclusive presently unlocks an “ultimate” difficulty setting, which players may use when starting a new game. They will, however, lose any unlocked talents, skills, gadgets, or suit enhancements. This will be a feature exclusive to the new Match Plus. The ability to replay story missions will also be a significant help to fans who want to relive some of the game’s most substantial fights and set-pieces without having to restart the entire game.
Insomniac has also advised players who intend to purchase Spider-Man 2 on disc to make sure they don’t miss the version 1.001.002 day one patch. We still don’t know what more Insomniac has planned for Spider-Man 2 after the game’s release. Whether there’s much to do after the credits roll is primarily determined by whether players complete the side tasks as they open or wait until the plot concludes.
Many of these objectives, such as Hunter bases and Symbiote nests, cannot be revisited if players accomplished them as they were accessible, unlike opponent bases in earlier games.
