Rocket League Season 9: Less than two weeks remain until the start of Rocket League Season 9, and now gamers have been given a hint about the season’s theme.

Rocket League’s Season 9 kicks out on December 7, and developer Psyonix just released a teaser trailer and an in-game news pop-up to get players excited. Rocket League’s Forbidden Temple map is rocked to its foundations when two battle cars collide while chasing a ball and then explode.

When the smoke clears, the camera focuses on what looks to be two dragons whirling around inside of a hovering ball. The unidentified sphere breaks open like an egg, and the screen goes black.

The colors of the dragons in the orb, as well as the emoji message “Fire and Ice,” suggest that this may be the theme for Season 9. A huge dragon can be seen in the background of what appears to be a new arena in the game’s news popup, confirming that dragons play a significant role in the plot.

The new automobile for Season 9 and two other sets of wheels are shown off in the pop-up teaser. The new vehicle is reminiscent of the Dominus, but it has some nice chrome fenders up front that evoke the image of horns and, of course, flames and icicles erupting from the engine.
