While we’re waiting for Sony to tell us about the PS5 Pro, there’s some cool stuff coming in a new software update. YouTuber Mystic talked about it in a video on Thursday.
One big change is a battery widget and the option to pick a live wallpaper for the Explore tab. Speaking of Explore, it’s getting a makeover. Now, it shows more info like battery levels for controllers and connected gadgets like the Pulse Elite. There’s also a Console Storage tab to check how much space you have left.

On the right side, you’ll see stuff like game captures, news, your wishlist, and online things like your friends list and what they’re up to.
You can now set custom backgrounds for Explore, but they only show up there, not on the whole PS5. You can pick if you want to see stuff from friends or solo.
These changes are just for the U.S. right now. Sorry, rest of the world!
This update comes after System Update 9.00 last week, which made small improvements like better sound on the controller and more screen share options.
